*Slow Clap* for Yesterday's Episode

The following post is not meant to bash any particular person (in the forum or working on the show), nor is it meant to offend anyone. Simply had a few things to get off my chest about the show.

Never have I been this disappointed with a television show. Honestly.

And I have seen other shows that have killed three of my favourite characters within the span of 10 minutes, but I still watch it because it is consistent.

I closed an eye when Shivaay believed Daksh's words over Anika's character - dude was probably blind with all that jealousy. Took all the manhandling drama with a pinch of salt because he was staying true to his character, on some level. Even felt a little relieved when they finally got married, because yay, I my OTP got hitched! All this while, I know the Shivika ship slowly going downhill, but it was still afloat.

Yesterday, it was just a massacre.

I know. I know the track has to unfold, they are writing a drama series that should go on for a long time, they need the TRP, I am not a professional screenplay writer so I wouldn't know anything about maintaining a tv show on air. Somewhere down the road Shivika will be back together, and I admit, I might squeal at their romantic/cute moments. But it's never going to be the same again. All those build up they gave for these two over the months - Shivaay sensing her, accepting her as family', unable to see her all alone and sad during the sangeet, so many more moments - I felt like it was all just chucked aside yesterday.

And also, is that the message they want to send to young girls all around the world, who are invested in this show? Grit your teeth through all accusations, true or not, your in-laws throw at you, because hey, they will turn over a new leaf soon and you will eventually be the apple of their eye. So let yourself be dragged through the mud while at it, as you wait for them to cleanse their soul off their prejudices. That is what bahus exist for, right? Anika was in shock, unable to react...so she will stand there and cry? Really? Are we still talking about the girl who broke down in the middle of the road when SSO tried to pay her off, and then sauntered into the OM the very next day as a wedding planner, with the same money he had thrown at her? The girl who walked away repeatedly when SSO had insulted her and her non-existent lineage?

I hope they make me eat my words. I hope they give a magnificent twist, one where miraculously, Anika's character is so back on track that I forget yesterday's episode (and the upcoming reception nonsense) even happened. So I shall hold on to this Shivika ship on one tiny, teeny thread, and watch things unfold for the next 2 weeks.

Again, I want to emphasize: things will get better eventually. Anika will not stay broken. These are known facts. But while at it, they could have tweaked a thing or two to not make yesterday's episode seem like a monumental disappointment.

OOOkay done ranting. I still can't believe this show has affected me so much. Gosh.

I don't think anyone will bash you, most people here feel exactly the same way. Including me.

You know what killed the consistency...it's the fact that they delayed ShivIka wedding till Nov end when it was originally meant to take place in September (according to SC). So all the progression we've seen in Shivaay and ShivIka from Sept till now has literally gone down the drains (as Pinky would say). If they had gone through with the wedding then, perhaps Shivaay's new shades would have been more digestible.

The desperation for TRPs couldn't have been MORE obvious yesterday. The entire episode was a bait for TRP aunties (as they say). Starting from the mute & bechaari FL who couldn't stop crying. Family of ML hurling insults at her, saas taunting bahu. Dadi giving speeches about sanctity of mangalsutra and marriage. Hero rescuing and hugging third angle and bringing her to his home while she uses her dirty feet to trample over the Ghar ki Lakshmi's shubh steps or whatever.

Annika staying mute was the biggest disappointment cuz it is so out of character for her. In the initial family scene she may have not said anything out of shock. But later with the ladies she could have confided in the fact that she was actually forced into the marriage! As I understand from segments, she is gonna confide to Dadi in an upcoming episode when Dadi goes to her house to bring her back. And Dadi despite being aware of the premises of ShivIka wedding will still FORCE Annika to live with Shivaay as his wife. It's just SICK! And I doubt she's even gonna reprimand Shivaay let alone gift him a couple slaps.

Despite whatever Shivaay has done till now and what he'll do in his reception, he's still IN character but Annika is lost now! And I don't have a good feeling or hope for Annika giving him the silent treatment. Instead she seems to be yearning to gain acceptance from him as his wife...(going by reception BTS videos) So she seems to be well on her path to becoming a self-sacrificial mahaan bahu. She was already mahaan, but this is mahaanta on a whole new level.

Why would anyone bash you, when everyone feels the same ?

Dear why anyone will bash u???We r all in d same boat ri8???Haa, its anew setup for ShivIka...what all was shown just forget!!!I posted d same thing in another one..it always happens in GUL's shows...Leads will be on a certain level of understanding b4 marriage nd with marraige they will start a fresh!!!And in b/w character assassination or whatever its normal thing on Indian Telly...i can understand ur feelings becoz I was also invested into d show(Fool I am..My God)..Skip upto reception nd watch them in binge, u wont feel much pain!!!And after some 2 weeks or so u can see normal Anika...

I don't understan why Dadi is forcing Annika to come and live in Oberoi mansion with Shivaay, it feels sick. In my opinion, she should have slapped Shivaay for doing this forced-shaadi that too by using Sahil's card. I don't understand it.
I didn't watch yesterday's episode, but I got some idea of Shivaay being the dumbest businessman😲 I feel so sorry for Annika and her strong character, which I never expected will become completely opposite of it. I just want reception drama to get over as soon as possible because I can't stand crying female lead at all. I want her to be strong once again and fight back.

Shivaay was always a jerk. We forgot. Mallika came and made him half human.

How is it that Shivaay is ok with Soumya being so close to them? Would the ObBros be okay if he were to speak to Soumya like that when they find out RumYa are married?

Rumya are married, and keeping it secret. Shivaay and Annika (can't say the ship name without feeling ill) are married and he's hankering for Tia... what!! (!&#_=&&@, $^&@*^#^#?

he was saying this all along. He wants and only will marry Tia , Whoever comes in the way. I say just give him his ShiTia .

Ishqbaazi my foot. Dadi is barking up the wrong tree there. Dhokebaaz, badtameez, arrogant aadmi. I hate him. he won't choose love even if it hit him in the face. I dont want love for him.

I wish Dadi didn't spin all that romantic spiel about mangalsutra and etc . If your husband is abusive and does not accept you, you must respect the mangalsutra and sindoor ? ?

Even rich people crap, and it still smells just as bad.
