You are right, the creatives butchered Annika's character so much so that she seems like an alien.

Dadi should have given Shivaay two tight slap for making a mockery of marriage rituals
They have not even said a word to Shivaay. What we can infer from this

*Oberios are an ungrateful bunch of people with no spine.

#they dont care a ***** about anybody as long as their comforts are not affected

I'd pay to see that happen, man. For real. And yes, I always knew the Oberois were selfish, but this is wow on a whole other level. But ultimately, I hadn't expected much from them, either. Tej's and Pinky's reactions were on par with their characters, Shakti...eh, no comments. Janvi was a little disappointing, though. I just hope they have a hard time earning Anika's forgiveness.

I didn't watch yesterday's episode, but I got some idea of Shivaay being the dumbest businessman😲 I feel so sorry for Annika and her strong character, which I never expected will become completely opposite of it. I just want reception drama to get over as soon as possible because I can't stand crying female lead at all. I want her to be strong once again and fight back.

Yes. All of us are waiting for the reception nonsense to be over, I guess. I can't believe, despite everything, Dadi still wants Anika to come back. She has to realise that her grandson is, simply put, an a**hole. Anika's presence in OM alone isn't going to change his NKK ideals.

I think most would concur with your views.

I had said this on another thread yesterday, that there was a small flicker of hope when Annika revealed to Dadi the depth to which her grandson had fallen when he forced her to marry him. But, when she reverted to Rab chaahte the, that got snuffed out pretty sharpish. Did she not listen to what Annika was saying?!

Pontificating on every known cliche about the sanctity of marriage was so irrelevant in these circumstances, when the very concept of consent that underpins it all was missing. Marriage is a bandhan, not a noose. Not least one that continues to scrape at your throat for saat janam.

Haven't watched the episode to keep myself sane. From the posts it seems like Anika has become more meeker than Prinku of initial days. It doesn't make sense that the girl who never cared for society and stood for herself giving into some cliched mangalsutra, sindoor thing when the very person who put that mangalsutra and sindoor is a abuser and doesn't value it. I understand she was mum till the wedding got over as Sahil was at stake, but now when it's out in the open and Shivay is not considering this marriage, what is stopping her to open her mouth and say enough is enough to daadi and throw away that mangalsutra.
I totally agree with you on consistency part, they showed Anika very strong and liberal thinking which is making it senseless to turn her into submissive for the sake of mangalsutra, that too tied against her will.
They would have atleast shown the glimpses of this trait of Anika who values marriage at the cost of anything, then atleast her actions now could be justified. But no, they showed her very strong headed who doesn't care about the societal norms.
I am disappointed at Anika than Shivay, we were shown the glimpses of Shivay's bad side many a times so it's not that disappointing, but Anika is a big disappointment, I really admired her and was my strongest reason to watch this show.

WORD!! I actually started watching this show only for Annika, then stayed for ShivIka but she was always my strongest reason to watch this show as well. She for me was the life of the show. So now that she's lifeless, the show seems dead too. And you know, I can't even sympathise with her after this cuz she's asked for all the humiliation that's coming for her by not walking away from this marriage.

And Gul Khan was making big claims about making Annika a working woman blah blah after marriage. How? When she can't stay away from Oberoi mansion for even 5 minutes.

OK so just because Dadi did not scold Shivaaye and Shivaaye behaved like this all the Oberois became "UNGRATEFUL BUNCH OF PEOPLE WITH NO SPINE", what did Anika do while asking for additional 15 lakhs loan, when it is pretty clear she can not even return the original 30 lakhs wasn't she showing to be all self respect waali but wasn't being one?

I am not justifying Shivaaye or Dadi, but what good did Anika do? Why didn't she remove the mangalsootra if she hated this marriage?

And what exactly wrong (I mean Jahnavi, Pinky and Tej) do to earn forgiveness? Just not being an antaryaami to know that Anika was blackmailed for marriage and giving their opinions on whether or not Shivaaye and Anika marriage shall be considered real, like this is the heights

I agree. They know nothing about the forced marriage.

They should seek forgiveness for bringing up a person like Shivaay and sending him off as an adult in this world😆

Okay, all jokes aside, I simply felt they are forgetting all Anika has done for them and jumping the gun a little. Where did all of this disappointment' go when Anika claimed Shivaay spent the night with her and saved him from being a murder convict? Easy to accept her and whatever she says/does when it is just convenient for them, isn't it?

At the end of the day, me wanting Oberois to earn forgiveness is just what I wish to see, for my own satisfaction. It has nothing to do with the consistency of the plot. in fact, the Oberois behaving this way is actually one of the few consistencies of the show: they were selfish at the beginning, they are selfish now.
