The Anika that I came to like!

i am usually a silent observer, I watch only handful of them and this really caught my attention after a while...
The Anika I loved was the one who gave tit for tat!

When Shivay threw money at her, she broke his windshield and returned the money to fix his car!
When someone raised their hands on her she stopped them gave it right back...

I completely understand why she married Shivaay, simply because her brother's life was at stake. But I would love to see her take the mangalsutra out and sign the divorce papers without a blink and return the favor.

My reasons:
Marriage to me is sacred, but a forced one is not. Anika stands for strength and I would not like to see that disappear! She can mentally accept him as her husband if she's likes, possibly because she is in love or because she believes in the ritual. But her actions of removing the signs of a wedding will uphold her respect, the respect of every woman just like her, and she should not stay quite when is accused as she was today. She was forced and this is a very important factor to consider .

This, signing the divorce papers may sound like an easy escape but staying in the marriage is also not the right thing. What are we teaching through the acceptance of a forced marriage?

Today we as audience know shivaay likes her somewhere deep down. But this act of forceful marriage and our acceptance would show that it is acceptable or rather the right norm for a woman to put up with such situations and emerge out of it successfully. She can achieve the same coming out of it too.

Shivaay and the rest will eventually Realize their faults and come down to ask for Anika's hand that is the right way to go. It is not about showing that you are right and see that is why they are now begging for forgiveness. It is more about righteousness and self respect. She too doesn't have a family of her own who who protect her and fight for her. So is she more gullible to people's thoughtlessness? Rather , is it ok with people with family to take advantage of her?

I brought this up since from very personal experiences I have seen that this is a very common thing for people to say, "well what is done is done and now manage it." But what a woman truly goes through in such a situation is something directors hesitate to show and we do not want to see...sad but true.

I wish they show Anika walk out of it with her head held high and not loose the strength she had in the beginning. Also this will make them think- she walked out which means she was not after money...then what went wrong?

I wish...

in yesterday episode it was so irritating tha she has no dialogue at all.
Pinky raising her hand on her to slap her was a BIG NO NO for me.
Pinky instead must slap her own khandaani son.

It was a different show and a different Anika yesterday. Something which I cannot relate to. Even day before yesterday she was good and in her character. She suddenly turned into a gopi bahu. For whatever reasons the writers think that it will get them viewership, it's NOT going to happen. Even I don't know what the writers want to show. Respect the marriage where you are continuously disrespected and abused?
If Gul really wanted to show all this then she shouldn't have shown women empowerment. She shouldn't have talked shit about women empowerment. Atleast Ekta and RS don't talk so highly about women empowerment and then show shit. Gul turned out to be the most regressive these two.

True! If you want to show women empowerment then show it through and through and do not chicken out!

In India or among Indians, divorce is still a big NO NO regardless of the damn situation. I am not saying that divorce is the solution to problems at the drop of a hat. But in a situation like Anika's or many similar stressful situations - absolutely- this is considered mental and emotional abuse. The way she was forced? I mean forced in itself is wrong, but threatening to blow up your 6/8 brother handicapped or not in front of your eyes is the extreme mental torture one can think off. That feeling of imagining your brother/ dear ones in that blown up car and then dadi saying angrily- " really? Billu this is not ok at all. But marriage is no joke and is bond of 7 lives so now nibana padega. Now come home behave like husband and wife!"

She was shown as a strong woman, Dadi I mean. Why do all women change when it is a question of their own family members? Like seriously... I would love to see dadi, who accepted Om's "live in" proposal , say, " Anika, billu kya divorce dega tuje you should give it to him for what he has done to you. Akal ayega tho, he will come and ask for forgiveness and confess his love and ask for you hand the right way, else it is his loss."

But India serial always loose their strength half way through and take the meek route!'
