His hands were shaking as he held her close, his kurta drenched in the blood which had already made a puddle beside her limp body. Shivaay and Rudra heard the scream of terror before they saw him hunched on the floor of the mandir. Omkara's world had shattered to pieces.
"Meri jeevan ki har ek ansh tumse nafrat karte hai..."
He cursed his memory. He cursed his fate. He cursed the God who gave him this fate. The knife had cut deep into her stomach and possibly her kidney. Om cried desperately. His hands shook as he tried to contain the blood from draining.
"O..om.." Her voice was faint but nothing seemed more clear to him in that moment. She struggled to bring up her hand to his face. Om's hands cupped hers and kissed her. She smiled at him.
"Hum khud garz hai Om...hum aapko apne jaan...jaan se zyada Chahthi hun...aur aapki...aapki jaan humari khudgarzi hai...har haal mei aap par...aap par aanch tak nahi aane denge...chahe apne jaan deni pade.."
"Nahi...tum nahi jaa sakte...nahi ...aise nahi ...yeh kaisi khudgarzi hai Durga...nahi jaa sakte tum ...Utho Durga...pyaar karta hun tumse...utho.." Om's wails echoed across the sanctum. Durga's grip tightened on his arm for a moment, then her eyes closed in contentment and her body stilled.
