"Aap jealous ho?"

It came out as a question, but it wasn't. It was probably the most obvious thing Anika had stated or thought of in a while.

And it definitely caught him off the guard. Shivaay stared back blatantly at her face for few more seconds, trying to construct a proper comeback to what she had just said. He felt personally attacked, as if someone had questioned his entire existence on this earth. And before he could utter a single word, he heard her say it again, but this time with more confidence...and...was that a laugh?

"Aap jealous ho OMG!" Anika slowly broke into fits of laughter. She was finally getting to what had been so obvious all this while.

And so was he.

But then, dealing with obdurate hearts cannot be so easy. What exactly was God thinking when he poured so much stubbornness in one human?

"No I am not" he said and paused, contradicting his own mind. "Jealous."

"Seriously Billu-ji" she gasped for breath, breaking from her laughter. "Apke chehre se saaf saaf pata chal raha hain."

"No main bilkul bhi jealous nahi hun Anika you're wrong. Stop being wrong" he turned his back to her in one swift motion. Too bad, she had already read his face that had j e a l o u s written all over it. "K-kya pata chal raha hain mere chehre se?"

It hadn't occurred to her earlier, though. But today when she saw the bitter look on his face as Daksh started narrating his version of what a beautiful time he had spent that evening with Anika, it came out so clearly. Shivaay Singh Oberoi was indeed jealous.

A little surprise candle-night dinner that Daksh had arranged on their rooftop for her.

Alone.

On their terrace.

With his Anika.

He felt his element J flaring up and also getting the better of him.

How could she spend her time looking aesthetically pleasing over candle-night dinner with Daksh? He could already imagine how beautiful she must have looked in the dim lighting of white candles.

But then, there was no claim that he at all had on her. She could go out with anyone, at any time and he had absolutely no command over that. So why shouldn't she spend her time looking aesthetically pleasing over candle-night dinner with Daksh.

Shivaay shut his eyes closed and exhaled. He had no idea that a person of such unambiguous nature can be capable of feeling so many emotions. What was she doing to him?

His thought process was disrupted by the tinkling of her anklets. When he opened his eyes, she was there in front of him.

"Bas yeh, ki aap jealous ho!"
