First of all, I want to thank you guys for your love and support that has been flowing in on my posts, in my PM box, and in the form of likes.
Thank you so much for appreciating my thoughts and bearing with my writings even if they are getting a bit repetitiveđł I'll try to keep it different
Setting: Oberoi Mansion
Situation: Anika working on fixing some decorations on a tree, trying to reach upwards and stumbling.
Before her foot reaches the ground, she falls on Shivaay who quickly gathers her to him.
This time, he did not ask her if she was okay. This time, she did not need to respond. Could she see the worry in his gaze? Could she see the something more they could not describe?
Unabashed, reluctant to let each other go, as if they were both drunk on each other, they stood staring deep into each others' eyes, as if all the secret knowledge of this connection between them was written in his silver orbs or her deep brown ones.
Did he think he would drown in the sea of the world around them, in all the relationships, in all the commitments, in his ideologies and their responsibilities, if they let each other go?
Did they sense they needed this shared space between them, one that was growing lesser and lesser each time they came together like this, in order to breathe? That the air was sweeter when it was shared? Just like their lives could be?
A voice could not shatter their perusal into each others' hearts.
She had to remind him about his deal with Tia. While he, acknowledging it, had to force himself reluctantly to let her go. And yet, before he did, he asked her if she would be okay without him to catch her.
What other questions were implied in that statement? Did he understand the full import of that line? What could he mean other than the fact that he wanted to continue shielding her from possible physical pain each time he caught her in his arms?
What happened to the distance between them? Could he even pretend to be indifferent anymore when every beat of his heart made her aware of her presence, her footsteps (and lack of them?)
Did he know his eyes revealed a desperate need for her to acknowledge that she needed, no, wanted him? Did he know that he needed one reason, just one, to stay, and knew she'd never give it to him?
Always self-sufficient, she would never acknowledge a weakness in front of him. And why would he want to stay: just to feel her hand on his chest and to let his hands caress her hair?
Did he know how desperately he was waiting for her answer? Did he understand his naked need to know she would be okay without him, that she was sufficiently able to take care of herself in his absence in the future? Why was he so afraid to leave her? Was it for her safety or his assurance of it?
Would they realize that they could not let go of each other even after their respective conversation about needs and self-sufficiency?
Setting: Oberoi Mansion
Situation: Anika desperately trying to find a way to approach Shivaay in order to tell him about Tia.
Shivaay watching as Anika approaches him and suddenly stops, in the process of fainting.
One second, he was staring at her, and the next, a shout, 'Anika' had left his lips quicker than a breath, louder than a cricket in a silent forest.
He was there to hold her, he knew nothing, he cared about nothing except her limp figure.The world disappeared and this time, all his ideals, principles, prejudices disappeared with that world. His lips screamed for water as if he was the one parched, and in that one word, his naked terror was unmasked. His eyes sought for signs of life in her, his hands checking her face, as if needing to shake her into animation again, his face contorted with worry and a need to see her well again. Was he aware of this feeling he had not acknowledged as love? That all his beloved brother and grandmother had said had come together in that moment she lay in his arms, unconscious?
Who saw the way he held her in his arms, the tenderness with which he gently upturned the glass of water into her mouth, as if afraid to break her, as if this water had the strength to hurt her?
Did he know he had revealed his feelings to her unconscious form?
