Hello IBians and Special Hello to Omkara Deewanis,
The special hello is because my today's post is on OMKARA.
Even before I am typing, I can see a whole lot of chappals coming my way because I know few of my points may not go down well with the Omkara deewanis. But I still thought of writing this, because I liked Omkara right from his entry in the First episode and the omkara he is now. But, but,but... The omkara we will come across in the immediate future is something that is getting me addicted to him. Omkara as a character had many layers I don't know whether you could notice that, but he is not what he is. This may sound funny I know, seriously, but I see his layers unfolding already.
[Special Note: This post is about OMKARA SINGH OBEROI from Ishqbaaz and has NOTHING to do with KUNAL KULBHUSAN JAISINGH.]
Shivaay: What about Omkara? Omkara ki Weakness bataiye!
Omkara: Main independent hoon, naahi surname me believe karta hu naahi khaandan me. Jo jaisa hai use waise hi except karta hu. I believe in the truth. Or sach se badi koi takat nahi hoti.
Dadi: Or Sach se badi koi kamzori bhi nahi hoti. Sone me milavat karnese hi wo zevar banta hai.
Omkara - Compassionate and Chivalrious. Extremely loving and possesses unconditional love for his brothers. He is strong believer of truth and is omnistic towards his thoughts of belief. He hates anything and everything that is not truth. Chooses Truth over Family. But will he Choose Truth over Brothers too?
Om is the Second brother and the second possible heir of the Oberoi clan. Independent, self-made. Does not believe in name. He chose not to take the support of his high class and ultrarich family to make him what he is. Really?
He is calm, composed man, philosophical, understanding, artist and has his own principles, ways and thoughts about life.
But he is not emotional, he is impractical, he is irrational, he is unrealistic, he is biased and very very vulnerable to the real world. And all this about himself, he is unaware of. He does not believe himself to be impractical. But he is. Isn't he?
Shivaay: Duniya main sab kuch black and white nai hota hai Om. Grey bhi hota hai.
Shivaay is stating the fact here. A fact which we all know. The world is grey with some having more shades of black and some having more shades of white, some may have very little grey in them but IS THERE IN THEM. And so is in Omkara.
Omkara is following the path of truth, he is not Harishchandra, he is following Harishchandra. In this world where we exist, there does not exist one single path to a destination. You must and compelled to change your path in some point of time in your life. Complete truth is delusional. And so is Omkara's beliefs and principles.
Omkara has a fixed mindset about every person in his life. Tej is bad so He IS BAD. Shivaay is good so He is GOOD. He can't accept the other side, he can't accept what he doesn't believe.
Omkara is shown to believe he nothing but all for truth. But if you notice his biasness towards his father and his brother you will get to know that he does want to see the other side of the coin. For him all are one-faced. If not true you are false, end of story. What makes him judge a person to be Black or White? He judges them based on His and only His experience with them. He easily believed Anika to be True because HE saw she was True and witnessed her to be loyal and friendly so classified her as True. For him ishana was true because he saw pain, he saw her griefs and so he classified her as true also. It is only after the incidences that proved ishana to be wrong, he again quickly unclassified her and labelled her False. The decision was as quick as snapping your finger. He believes Ridhima to be true because he saw her to be true. But is she?
There was this one dialogue ofOmkara : Har kahani ke 2 kisse hote hai, 2 point of views hote hai. (Bua ne aisa kiya hume pata hai, par unhone aisa kyu kiya wo hum abhi tak jante nahi hai ). Ek insaan kab konse mushkil se guzarra ho, you never know.
This is something that Om said and Om doesn't follow. Or Should I say he does not want to follow it, because then this will contradict his belief on truth. Omkara fears accepting truth. He fears looking at the other side of the box. He is scared to look and explore the world outside the box.
His strong believe to follow truth has created trust issues in him. He is very vulnerable. Easily manipulative.
Omkara once said to ridhima: MUJHE DUNIYA KYA KEHETI HAI USSE KUCH FARAK NAI PADTA, MERA PARIVAR KYA KARTA HAI OR KYA SOCHTA HAI USSE FARAK PADTA HAI. Maine aaj tak sirf Sacchai par badi badi baatein ki hai bas, aage jake aagar meri family galat hui to me sachai ka hi saath dunga or sachai ke hi raaste par chalunga. Family or sacchai ke beech saachi ko hi chununga.
Then there is one more where Omkara says to Shivaay: Kuch to Kiya hi hoga na Mr. Oberoi ne WARNA GAYATRI OR ISHANA BEWAJA ILZAM UNPE NAHI LAGATE. BINA AAG KE DHUA NAI UTHTA.
You see how contradicting he is to himself. What dadi said is true about him, Truth is his weakness. He believes TEJ is BAD and so he must have committed the crime. But did he? He believes SHIVAAY cannot be a murderer and so he will always defend him.
Omkara easily believes people and once his believe is hurt he just erases him. There is no watching the other side of him. Example. Ishana. (Contradicts his 2 sides of coin dialogue to Dadi and Shivaay about bua, mentioned above).
This is OMKARA

In the recent speculation of Om's Past. There can be three instances
1. Either he has committed a crime in his past that he chose to hide.
2. Or he has taken the blame upon himself for a crime committed by Priyanka and so he chose to hide.
3. Or He/Priyanka thinks they have committed a crime (but maybe the crime was planned by some enemy to trap him/her to make him believe has done the crime) but he chose to hide.
In either of the ways, he is breaking his own set principles: Truth before Family, Honesty, etc, etc,.
His dialogue to shivaay: Jhoot Jhoot hota hai, Ek jhoot chupane ke liye Hazaron jhoot bolne padte hai, jaha jhoot boya jayega, waha hamesha Jhoot hi ugega. Or kisi bhi gunha ke tay me jake dekh, waha par tujhe jhoot hi milega.
What have you to say on this?
This all shows that who weak his ideologies are. The base on which Omkara has built himself is weak.
His past is finally here to HAUNT him. So, this is where OMKARA WILL CHALLENGE OMKARA.
This is the turning point, where all his principles will be challenged, all his beliefs will be questioned, all his thoughts will be refreshed.
AS dadi said: tumhare zindagi jhoot koi or mila dega. Jo kami bande me hoti hai, uske jode me puri hojati hai.
So SHE is coming maybe. Omkara is not PURE TRUTH (in all senses) but he does not believe it and She is coming to make him believe in it.
When OMKARA meets and starts accepting the world, he will expose his other layers which are hidden beneath his Composed nature. If you notice his behaviour accurately in different situations, he is not a calm and soft natured man. He is blunt.
When he starts believing the other side of the coin he will be THE OMKARA SINGH OBEROI.
His journey from knowing "only black and white to grey"..
His journey from "Believer to Agnosticism"...
His journey to the battle "Omkara v/s Omkara"...
Will Change Omkara to OMKARA SINGH OBEROI.
P.S. How many of you feel Omkara Singh Oberoi that will be uncovered in the future may be the reason Shivaay leaves Oberoi mansion i.e. goes for vanvaas. He remains unconditional to his brother despite some differences of opinion but,
As Shivaay said today: Choti baat kab Badi banjati hai pata nahi chalta...
So maybe there will be clashes between them when omkara will Stand Opposite Shivaay and as Ishana hinted he will become like Tej someday... maybe he will uncover his Angry Young Man nature ..
The struggle he will go through to not make himself like Tej will probably make him more aggressive and that will pull out his layers to the OMKARA SINGH OBEROI we have been waiting to see..
This story is about the Story of brothers; how they and how their ideologies change and their journey of love ...
What Om is now is OMKARA only that means in the future we will get to see OMKARA SINGH OBEROI who is powerful.

This gives a hint to my thought because .. Omkara is now in his own world which no one can invade not even the truth he does not want to believe. The day will come when he is out of his bubble and he will be trapped between his own principles he followed and the principles the world wants him to follow.
