Can I cry like a spoilt child and bang my hands on the floor and throw a tantrum to make you change the ending??Lol!!
I refuse to believe it and while I may sing a different tune tommorow, when SSO proves once again that he can be a colossal idiot, I still want a happy ending for both of them...(pathetic I know) and so I wont read the last 3 paragraphs of this story when I re read it! And imagine my own happy ending...

Actually I wondered like you, if I should leave it more open ended like, he's back, he's sorry, he's an idiot, but now will pursue her and we'll fade out on a hopeful scene. But with everything he has done, she would have to be an absolute idiot to sit and basically wait for him. Not just in my story, where he literally leaves her, but in the serial where he has even less rights over her than my story-Shivaay does, with Tia out of the picture and his family urging him on.

I've written, and am writing happy ending stories like Dil Bole Oberoi. That one will become a series of cute little future moments for when the actual show is kicking us a bit too much in the butt. Its semi- fluff, if you like fluff. But I felt that at least one story I did should have Shivaay face up to the conscequences of how he is treating her.

Of dealing with the outcome of treating her like an object he can place up high on a shelf and owes nothing to---not friendship, not honor, not even the respect of TELLING her, to her face--look, move on. Telling her, I'm a coward, okay? I'm nothing more than my name, I don't even have the strength that my dad had, when he said "to hell with it" and married my mom. Hell, I don't have the courage that Mallika had, who said "to hell with it" to the love of her life, who took such a chance and faced down society itself, for herself. Respect for being an admirable, desirable, marriagable woman is also what you deserve, but you wont get that from me. So move on.

Honestly, I completed the story today because it was a fitting bookend to what Shivaay's about to do on the serial tomorrow-- dismiss Anika, shame her. So here, a bit of retribution, where he is the one who gets his way juusssttt how he likes it. She has a future, has a career, is successful, and is even nice to him. Still in touch with his family who love her, but not in his face, creating those pesky feelings. Nice and tidy. Be careful what you wish for, yeah?

I loved the ending. It is so empowering in the sense it doesnt show a typical damsel waiting for a guy to show up after he has rejected her. So that was really fresh and unique. Shivas's Point of view was explained and described brilliantly. Loved that. and Loved the entire story!

Thanks for taking out the time to reply Navin!!
I do agree with you! If Anika were my best friend in real life, I would have been the the one to ardently curse the guy and push her to move on and tell her to tell Shivaay to get lost because he never deserved her. Ever.
But in this story, or in the show, I wanted a happy ending.B ecause its a show. Because I felt that Shivaay and her could love each other like no one else could. And all the soul mates and lobsters stuff and the happily ever afters, that we get to see so little in real life, exist.
So I while I understand the message, I wanted something different thats all!! 😊 Who knows, tommorow after watching the epi, I may thank you for this piece!!
And I loved DBO and the The Night of the wedding too...Be it fluff or angst or anything else , you write beautifully!!

oh dear, this was heart wrenching💔😭
You mentioned being furious while penning down chapter 1 and I'm guessing you were sort of calm through chapter 2. And it was because of that i had a slight hope it would be a positive, happy ending at chapter 3
But alas, it was not meant to be
I may not be happy with it, may not come back to re-read like i usually do with your other stories, but i do understand it completely.
Realistically, I think its great to read at least 1 story where the protagonist screws up and endures the consequences of a poor decision made.
As always, It was an amazingly, beautifully woven story👏👏
And its an utter relief to have you back to this🤗
Thanks for completing it😃

I loved this ending. And it has nothing to do with thoughts of Shivaay getting his just desserts. This was truly about both characters growing up. What a pleasure to read the way you showed this. How elusive happiness can be and at the same time how easily attainable. Sab hamare nazariyen par tika hai :)

Just read d last part...sad but kind of fitting actually...loved d way annika has moved on ...she remains d fighter i admire👍🏼...but shivaay 😭...but yeah he reminds me of a poem i love very much " the road not taken"...
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back...
Yup shivaay has chosen n yeah most of d time we dont get a re do if we take d wrong road...
