AnShi/ShivIka Story:Koi Toh Samjhao Inhe! Updated ch.7 on Page 13 - Page 4

Everybody stood in the front hall waiting for Anika and Sahil to finally join them for the outing. Rudra and Soumya were bickering while Priyanka and Adirut were sat beside them, trying to unsuccessfully shut them up. Shivaay was quite irritated about the tardiness and kept stealing not so subtle glances at his watch. Omkara strode up to him with a knowing smile on his face.

"Aa jaegi. Thoda toh wait karo, Shivaay." Omkara teased Shivaay.

"Kya aa jaegi? Yeh uska plan tha na? Aur voh hi late hain? I should have never agreed to her. Plus the place where she would take us would obviously be extremely unhygienic," Shivaay spoke with annoyance. "You know what, I'm done. I'm leaving."

Before Om could reply, the person of interest walked down the stairs in a black Anarkali suit with her hair cascading down in waves and Shivaay stopped in his tracks to openly ogle at her.

"Sorry sorry sorry, Sahil zidd kar raha tha aane ki par usne apna homework nhi kiya tha toh mujhe zabardasti usse padhne bhejna padha. Pata hai voh jabhse yaha aaya hai bilkul kaamchor ho gaya hai." Anika started blabbering without a care in the world while Om slyly looked at Shivaay.

"Abh tumhara drama ho gaya ho toh chale?" He whispered to Shivaay.

Shivaay turned back to glare at him before leaving the house in a huff. The others followed, wondering what was the cause of their bade bhaiya's sudden eagerness to leave.

The kids(RuSouPri) piled onto the backseat of one car with Shivaay while Adirut sat in another. Only Omkara and Anika were left standing outside and before Om could sit in Adirut's car so Shivaay could spend some time with Anika, Anika quickly strode over to Adirut and took her place on the passenger seat.

Lagta hain baagad bille ka mood bahut kharab hai. Mujhe unse abhi ladhna nhi hai toh main Adirut ke saath hi baith jaati hu. -A

Omkara turned back to sit with Shivaay having been left with no other choice and came face to face with what could only be termed as raw jealousy. Shivaay clutched the door's edge in his hand, looking at Anika sitting with Adirut and the two sharing a laugh.

Huh. Maybe this wasn't so bad either. -O

He took his time walking to the passenger seat, making sure Shivaay could look at Anika and Adirut's camaraderie for a few moments longer. Afterall, isn't it said that we truly value something only after we have lost it? Or we think we have lost it, in this case.

"Bhaiya, chale?" Rudra asked from the backseat, snapping Shivaay out of his trance. Quickly taking a seat, he started the engine before gunning out of the driveway behind Adika, with Anika giving Adirut directions.

When they reached the destination, they quickly ditched their cars in the parking lot and strode over to a specific vendor on wheels. Shivaay scrunched up his nose at the sight and before he could mutter something bad about the place, Adirut spoke up.

"Anika, maine kaha tha na, this place is beneath Shivaay Singh Oberoi. Lagta hain unhe yeh jagah bilkul pasand nhi aayi." Adirut looked from Shivaay to Anika before giving her a knowing smirk.

"Tum bilkul sahi bol rahe ho, Adirut. Tumhare bhaiya ko toh kuch bhi pasand nhi aata." Anika gave Shivaay a look before giving Adirut a hi5.

"How exactly did you come up with this conclusion, pray tell? I didn't even utter a word!" Shivaay was quite frankly fed up of their opinion of him.

"Bhaiya abhi toh aap khudh face bana rahe the." Rudra piped in innocently.

"Shut up, Rudra," Shivaay responded the only way he could.

"Chalo, aap sabh baitho, main order de kar aati hu." Anika herded everyone towards a small seating area and headed towards the vendor herself.

After ordering, just as Anika was about to pay the bill, another hand forwarded itself to the vendor. She turned back to come face to face with Shivaay who had paid over her shoulder and so, was a little too close for her comfort.

"Aapko humesha paise kyun dene hote hain? Main laayi thi sabhko yaha toh main paise dungi na?" Anika asked but there was no challenge in her voice which barely rose above a whisper.

"How many times do I need to tell you? When out with me, I pay," Shivaay whispered while moving towards her. A little wide eyed, she looked at him in shock but stayed rooted to her spot. He brushed his lips slightly against her cheek and her breath caught in her throat. Smiling a little in satisfaction, he plucked a napkin from the stack and moved back to let air come back into both their lungs. He had no idea why he did what he had, but the look on Anika's face gave him immense satisfaction. Her eyes were half closed and she was still clutching onto his shirt at the waist, as if without the support she wouldn't be able to keep standing. He was sure of one thing however, that she wouldn't remember about the payment issue. Otherwise, being as feisty and strong willed as she was, he was sure to have had a scene created in the middle of the market due to her stubbornness. Plus, it served her right for choosing Adirut over him on the ride over.

"Madam ji, yeh ko," The vendor called out to Anika, holding out a bag full of packed chaat. Anika and Shivaay got startled and finally looked away from each other, slightly embarrassed at the show they must have put up in public due to their close proximity. Quickly breaking apart, Anika turned around to clutch the bag in her hand. But being Anika, ofcourse her attention was caught on something else immediately.

"Bhaiya, ek sookhi papdi de do na," She pleaded, her mouth watering at the thought of the crisp papdi she loved to have. He smiled at her and proceeded to pick one up from the mixture he had prepared and handed it over to her who ate it in one go.

Shivaay smiled softly seeing her eat with so much childlike happiness when suddenly Anika's eyes grew wide. She opened her mouth and blew air inside with her hand while simultaneously signaling for water with her other hand. Jumping up and down on the spot, she picked up a jug full of water and poured it all over her face in her haste to drink it.

Shivaay, for once instead of getting angry at the guy for feeding her what seemed to be a papdi with too many chilli powder specks on it, laughed with glee upon seeing Anika begging for more water, droplets covering her whole face, as she practically danced on spot. He sombered up enough to ask for milk from a nearby vendor who was selling milkshakes. With tears of mirth prominent in his eyes he asked Anika to open up who completely sealed her mouth at the sight of plain milk. Shaking her head from side to side, she tried moving back but Shivaay was having none of it. Encircling her waist, he pulled her to his chest and softly ordered her to open her mouth. She looked at the milk with disgust but reluctantly took a sip as he quietly fed her the the whole glass. When it was finished, she made a face at the taste and looked up into Shivaay's eyes. But all her protests died on her lips as she took in the dark blue eyes with shades of grey. Shivaay was still smiling and Anika had to admit, it was a very cute look on him. Taking out his handkerchief, he wiped off all the water droplets from her face, barely able to contain another bout of laughter.

"Aapko zyada hassna chahiye, cute lagte hain." Anika blurted out, not even realising that she just spoke her mind. That just widened Shivaay's smile but they both sprung apart as soon as they heard Adirut's voice.

"Anika? Shivaay? Tum dono chaat banana seekh rahe ho kya?" He spotted them and moved towards Anika. "There you are! Come on, come on, I'm hungry!" He quickly began ushering Anika to where everybody else was seated with a hand on her shoulder. Shivaay followed them with a smile still on his face.

As soon as the others saw them, they jumped up and grabbed a plate each before digging into the delicious chaat. Shivaay smiled even bigger seeing his family enjoy so much. He didn't know when he forgot that even such small things could bring so much happiness to all of them. He sat down between Om and Anika, with Adirut to Anika's left who were both deep in conversation. Anika munched on her food and talked, which otherwise would have irritated Shivaay but somehow today he was content with the fact that she didn't talk with her mouth full of food. He saw a small piece of bhel stuck to the corner of her lower lip and started moving his hand towards his pocket to bring out his handkerchief again for wiping it off but Adirut's hand beat him to it.

Shivaay watched in silence as Adirut rubbed Anika's lips for a second longer than required and she smiled back at him as a wordless thank you.

Shivaay stood up abruptly and muttered something about a meeting before walking out of there before anybody could even process what happened. Well, everybody except Omkara obviously, as he had as usual guessed the reason behind his brother's sudden leave.

Yes, Adi is like Rudra, but he's also like Shiv and Om. He is an O-Bro but also a completely different person. He just has a few traits of all of them. Let's see how Adi helps bringing out Shiv's feelings.
More about Adirut will be learnt in the next chapter, I promise. That includes whether he likes Anika or whether he will help OmRu in uniting ShivIka.
