Part 2:-
Anika checked and cross checked everything. This house held alot of memories for her. Even though she knew she wasn't leaving it forever and could come back to stay here whenever she wanted to, she knew she was going to miss it. She made sure she had gathered every essential item that she herself or Sahil might require during her stay over at the Oberoi mansion. Having already checked thrice, she knew it was just her nerves acting up.
"Didi abh bass bhi karo. Koi saaman reh bhi gaya toh hum vapes aa kar le jaenge," Sahil muttered, not looking up from his video game his Rudra bhaiya had gifted him upon their first meeting. When she had informed Sahil about the move he had jumped on the chance, much to Anika's delight. The sweet little bundle of joy was quite smart as well as accommodating. Anika was ever so proud of being his elder sister.
"Haan par ek baar phir check karne mein kya jaa raha hai?" His sister was annoyed and Sahil knew the real reason behind it as Anika glanced at her watch for the umpteenth time that morning.
"Aapko fikar ho rahi hai na ki SSO nhi aaenge kyunki voh vaise late nhi hote?" Sahil voiced his thoughts but before Anika could respond the doorbell rang. "Dekho aa gaye aapke bagad bille."
Anika gave Sahil a quick look to shut up his snickering before rushing off to open the door. But the person who greeted her wasn't SSO and she immidiately deflated like a bubble bursting.
"Miss Anika?" The stranger asked and Anika nodded to confirm. "I'm Adi Oberoi. Shivaay is waiting in the car and I told him I would come get you. Have you packed?"
"Haan, main bass Sahil ko bulati hu."
Anika was immensely confused but she quickly called out to Sahil and picked up her bags, with the stranger, Adi, helping her and walked over to the car.
Adi kaisa naam hota hai? Yeh naam rakha kissne?! Aur Oberoi?
Yeh Oberoi kaise ho sakta hai?-A
When they had settled inside the car, Sahil chirpily greeted Shivaay, thankfully calling him bhaiya instead of SSO. He too responded sweetly and Anika smiled at them both.
"Sorry we got late. Actually Shivaay wanted to come pick me up from the airport personally but the flight got delayed. I'm Shivaay's second cousin and I just came back from Australia after finishing my studies." Adi spoke to Anika, clearing out most of her doubts.
"Adrut abh humare saath hi rahega." Shivaay further explained, passing a proud smile to Adi. The smile that was reserved only for the O-bros.
Adrut? Adi? Kahi maine pehle galat toh nhi sun liya?-A
"Shivaay please don't call me Adrut! Atleast not in the presence of such a beautiful woman." Adi whined like Rudra and the similarity made Anika chuckle.
Beautiful woman? He surely won't hit on Anika, right?
Atleast Adi would know not to do something as foolish!
The woman was beneath our standards! Mujhe Adi se baat karni
padhegi.-S
Shivaay's gaze darkened hearing her chuckle and he blamed his dislike of Adi flirting with Anika on lineage issues instead of something else, as usual.
The rest of the ride home passed by in a similar fashion with Shivaay's grip on the steering increasing every minute.
As they approached the Oberoi mansion Sahil grew excited and everyone laughed at his comments. Even the khadoos Shivaay Singh Oberoi spared a smile at the cute kid's antics.
When they reached, they all quickly stepped off the vehicle. The whole family was waiting outside and Adrut picked Sahil to walk inside the house.
Anika stepped to follow them but felt a hand stopping her from behind. She turned around and came face to face with SSO.
"As Adrut is back after two years and will be joining me in the office we need to have a party to celebrate the occasion. You are responsible for organising this event and whatever money you require you can ask from me. Also, come by my room later to get the guest list. You're supposed to invite all of them, obviously," Shivaay spoke, forgetting that he still held her hand.
"Okay. Main abhi shuru kar deti hu taiyaariya." Hearing this Shivaay smiled with content and waited for her to walk inside the house so he could follow her.
"Mera haath," Anika murmured.
"Kya?" Shivaay asked confused and slightly irritated that this woman wasn't moving.
She pointed down to his hand still holding her's and he quickly left it. He felt slightly embarrassed but refused to show it. Motioning with his hand, he asked Anika to lead the way.
When they entered the house they saw everyone swarming around Adrut with Sahil on his lap.
"Main toh tugh se bahut naaraz hu Adrut. Tum itne saal humse milne bhi nhi aaye! Pata hain mujhe tumhari kitni yaad aati thi puttar?" Dadi exclaimed with her usual flair.
Adrut gently picked up Sahil and made him sit to his left before standing up and side hugging his grandma. The grandma who had taken him in and cared for him when his parents had passed away. She was his everything, along with the brothers and Prinku. She was also perhaps the only person who got away with calling him by his full name.
"Dadi, par Shivaay ki work mein help karne ke liye mujhe pehle apna naam bhi toh banana tha na. Abh main iss layak ho gaya hu ki main Oberoi industries join kar saku," Adi pacified her.
"Adi, you were always worth being a part of this company. It was only you who wanted to prove your worth," Shivaay spoke in between with pride evident in his eyes.
"Voh baat toh vaise sahi hi kar raha hai, Shivaay. Chal abh main tughe khudh apne haaton se khaana khilaungi." Dadi dragged him along to the kitchen as everyone else chuckled at them.
OmRu however caught sight of Anika and were overjoyed.
"Di hume bhaiya ne bataya ki aap yaha work karne ke liye raazi ho gayi. I'm so happy di. I missed you so much." Rudra said before hugging his di tightly. Anika was pleasantly surprised by his behaviour.
"Haan, Anika. Tumne acha kiya ki tumne agree kar diya." Omkara agreed.
