2 years!?😲 You must be joking.
The whole show doesn't look planned at all. JhanKy, TejVi and everything is so sudden and abrupt. CVs could have done more in 2 years

the thing is that every gul khan show has some standard stuff and formula.. and the rest of the story and cast revolves around that standard concept...
even here if u see shivika concept is tried and tested formula which kind of always works in PH favour.. around this they have designed the rest of the IB cast and side stories..
if u ask me the side stories almost seems forced and out of radius and logic... it seems to be just added for filling up d show... there is no connection or continuity... many loop holes..
coming to the characters there is lack of depth in many.. esp the supporting cast... including anika there has been no past to her character...

IB is just entertainment minus brain... some things in the story will be soon forgotten and never visited like anika past and her sister... even soumya family story and her sadness has no revelation.. it doesnt let me connect to her sadness... its so important to give a proper introduction to the characters...

i think IB team need to focus on the story telling part of it as well along with the entertainment part of it..

what they r good at is giving some memorable scenes.. mainly romantic dreamy ones.. they r able to make us connect to d relationships and d love angles r beautiful with great chemistry... but working on overall story is a must.. 😳

i doubt if it even took 2 months to conceptualize this project leave alone 2 years 😆

Short answer -No.
Long answer- this lady is a joke, plain and simple. You know most actors / PH don't really give a crap about us, which is funny considering we make a show hit or flop. But they are not blatant like that. She don't even try to deny that she gives a damn about viewers who invest time, emotions and creativity behind her shows. She makes memorable show, no doubt, Geet Ipkknd are legends- but she doesn't go beyond that. She keeps shoving down her bubbly manic pixie dream girl FL our throats in every scene- she will start as nobody then suddenly the whole family can't function without her. If somehow side actors are good she will ruin it herself. I rem there was a time Hadi Haya/Haider Humeira was more likeable than leads, then poof they are gone!

When time and again it comes up that they planned this story for two years all I can think is we, people who are studying or doing 9-5 jobs can come up with better ideas which is a shame cause its her job, dammit! And we can't tell her about it, as we are bashers who spread negativities and sabotage our actors career by that! TejVi actors are so good, that infidelity track can be so great and Vikram Rana made an appearance we could have gotten some ideas as to how she married this man leaving him! Nope. Nada. Pinky and Husband are like laxmi the goat of ipk, atlst pinky since her hubby may be antagonist hidden the entire time. Om has zero development and only there to cheer the lead.

I have noticed if someone don't like Shivika they can't enjoy the show, since I am one who see zero chemistry between them this become unbearable for me. You think RymYa will be next? If history repeats at the end of day only shivika will be standing rest will go AWOL 😆 and I am not saying this as a hater. Gul has not give anything to me to keep watching. Her dekhna hai to dekho attitude at best.

You write beautifully. I have read your analysis posts which makes me interested in show, then I watch what's being served and I m like nope, not gonna happen. Today was last straw to me. Good luck to you, maybe we will see each other on another forum

Did Vrushika quit herself? I thought the PH pulled the plug on her and Vrushika 'took it in stride.'

Anyway, Vrushika leaving has triggered this post, but I've definitely thought about it for a while now. I am not going to comment on Shivika, because they've never made an impact on me. They appear to be the same as every other pairing from past GK shows, but I still hoped to see a slow burn for them and yet the writers decide to dive in headfirst.

I don't expect writing of an international standard from these writers, but is it too much to expect originality and rational progression? If what you say about SP is true, then I don't expect this show to have a long run at all.

I am kind of worried about sanaya irani's new show on SP too as it will take a long time too...hopefully it is not a disappointment,at least it should have a plot...but it is made by YHM's initial writers and that show was pretty likeable in the starting..they do well with concepts involving kids..so there is some hope.

Coming back to IB - i just wonder exactly when did this become an only shivika story when not only the promos but even the initial articles promoted this as a story of three brothers...so when exactly did the change happen?
Also they seem to have focussed more on special effects and being ott than on the story.

IB is currently the only Indian TV show I watch, and so I have very little knowledge of what is happening outside of it. Therefore, I cannot really comment on other shows.

I do agree with you, regarding the lack of story for Om and Rudra. Currently, they serve as ornaments to embellish the show. They have no track whatsoever, and it is frustrating. Rudra, to me, is the most fascinating character, and I would love to more exploration into his psyche. However, the writers insist on reducing him to merely comic relief.

The GREAT writers have once again proved their GREATNESS. 😆
If they don't know how to handle an ensemble cast, then why do they try?
Today, it's Ishaana. God knows, who it will be tomorrow.

No.
Two years were spent, but not on IB. Just on creating another couple she could get some accolades for. I know people 1/3rd her age who are better writers/executers than her entire team. Not discrediting her talent in the industry, just stating facts, since the people on this forum love those. As much as I dislike Ekta Kapoor, even she's shown better compassion towards fans/actors on her stupid, irrelevant story lines.

Normally, I wouldn't bother with GK either. She is hardly of an Aaron Korsh or Shonda Rimes status, but apparently she's a big deal in India, which makes me mourn for Indian standards. If she is the standard for Indian talent, then I am sorry to say that Indian writing still has a long way to go.

You're right, and this makes it even more embarrassing for Gul Khan. Why did it take her two years to develop Shivika, when all she did was recycle her old pairings? 😆

Either she works at snail's pace or she had to sort through a hell of a lot of trash to try to decide, which parts to reuse and what to disregard.

SP is brutal that's because they have way too many shows lined up many people tend to think sp shows run for long for example yeh rishta and saath nibhana but the fact is because these shows are yielding great results hence the plug hasn't been pulled on them! Also shivika I've just come to realize I like because of the fact i absolutely loved the couples from which shivika have been derived so they give me a sort of a nostalgic coming home feeling but it's pretty evident their writing is also heavily flawed

what we have been shown till now maximum is a love story between a rich business guy who is arrogant and thinks highly of himself and a simple bubbly middle class girl. And this is nothing unique for Indian TV.So what exactly took 2 years?

GK had to edit thousands of scenes, by replacing the names of past characters from other shows with the names of characters from IB.

It's a taxing process, my friend. One that can apparently take two long, hard years.

😆
