I hear that her team spent two long years developing the characters and the plot line. It sure doesn't look like two years of work. For being such a big name (apparently) in the television industry, Gul Khan's Ishqbaaz is underwhelmmg - at least that's what the TRP suggests.

Cameos get more scenes than leads. There is no functioning antagonist. No continuity of sub-plots. Too many characters and not enough story. Even the Shivika romance feels rushed. Characterisation is a joke.

• From constantly bitching at each other, Pinky and Jhanvi suddenly became soul sisters. There was no catalyst, nor was their slow progression. One moment they can't stand each other and in the next, they can't live without each other. CV's please explain.
• Tej and Jhanvi are suddenly in love. Decades of resentment and misunderstandings is compensated for with a simple sorry. From being on the verge of a divorce, abruptlyTej and Jhanvi are enamoured with each other like young teenagers.
• Shivaay's development from harsh, ruthless, unfeeling businessman to a bumbling, smitten, romantic is baseless, and so sudden. This change baffles me. How does one, change so drastically in such a short period of time?
• Don't even get me started on IshKara. This story had so much potential, but the writers completely wasted it. After two years of 'developing,' the best the writers could come up with was Bela & Mala, before they completely gave up on the character. Writers, you lost my respect then and there. A good writer is a person who should be able to create magic from the most impossible of situations. You gave up, and I cannot tolerate people who give up. In my eyes, that is simply being lazy, lacking determination, imagination and originality. Basically, you are a disgrace to the idea of creativity.
• As much as I love RuMya, I fear that this pairing will never gain momentum, because Gul doesn't let her side pairings reach their full potential. RumYa will be the next to go under the bus - mark my words.
• Where is the story even heading? The villainous trifecta is pathetic. There is literally no plot or substance to the current story. It's literally one festival after the other. A new cameo every other week. There is hardly any conflict. Where are you going with this, Gul?
• All that is left, is the supernatural. Any sign of witches, vampires, talking snakes, magic, ghosts or werewolves - I'm out. And sadly, this isn't even remotely ludicrous. Gul has a history of the outlandish, so if that's what you're planning, please be honest for once and let us know now, so that the intelligent viewer can abandon ship early before we are even more invested in the characters.

And this is the reputation that Gul and her creatives have developed, which is far from an admirable one. So for those who laud Gul, unfortunately, I am going to have to disagree with you.

I'm on the verge of abandoning this show. Most days, it resembles a comedy more than a drama and that's not what I signed up for.

There is a reason why your trps are falling, Gul. Take a hint. Stop defending your writers, by blaming fans. Be accountable for your failure as a producer. Take charge of your creative team and give the story direction, before you lose control of the wheel, as well as sight of the shore.

I always thought that Nakul's acting as Shivaay was not good...but I was surprised to see so many people who really loved him...maybe I'm weird but I find the acting done by him OTT. Either he has no emotions or too much...not subtle ...also what is it with the way he acts that makes it look like he's trying too hard. He needs to improve. I think both Rudra and Om are played well,Nakul needs to play the character and not look like a parody of Maan or ASR.

Thanks for pointing that out. I stand corrected, then. However, I will still maintain that writers did a dismal job with their story. IshKara had immense potential, but the writers could not capitalise on it. I have nothing else to say for them.

As a writer, I cherish the characters that I write. If I give birth to something, then I cherish it like my own child. The writers on the show, kicked their character to the kerb, just because they did not know where to go with her. This is immensely saddening because it shows that the writers do not value their own creation. Not only does this demonstrate a lack of originality and imagination, but also displays cowardice, on the part of the creative team. They backed down from the challenge. Instead of fighting for their character, they gave up on her and as a viewer, I cannot forgive that.

What if they show main focus on all three brothers ??? Like MILNA BICHIRNA MISUNDERSTANDINGS but still love present there. But hesitations too. I want to see Vanvass track like they mentioned in the initial promos.

I like shivika but every time i watch a shivika scene i am forced to remember a similar scene of ipkknd only the one who are facing this will understand how irritating that is we are watching a different show not a remake show it has way too much similarity with ippkknd there are some scenes which is completely copy pasted like the coffee scene of ipkknd water scene in this show the fall in the bed repeated dialogues this things needs to be changed and improved I believe one more mistake has been done by bringing out the whole focus only on shivaay Anika where the focus should have been equally distributed between the brothers and their love stories if they really wanted to focus on one brother they should have make the beginning and promos like that if they wanted to focus on one brother that brother should not have been shivaay it should have been omkara because shivaay is a very common type of character where omkara is a quite unique character in Indian TV he had complicated life because of his parents dark past with drugs gambling and all that yet he is positive he fought back and left the bad habits on the other side ishana is a kind girl who though good at heart but forced to con people to clear the debts they had the potential of making one more unique show but they lost it

how can u doubt her creative team. they spent 2 years writing scenes for shivaay, anika,shivika and sahil

May b it did for making those awesome promos!which clearly shwed it as a brotgers shw !she must have done a research on how to fool public by shwing her old lovestry in a new name!she knws if she promoted it as her so called lead lovestry this would go the himsafars way so she used new tactics!she shwed what she promised for furst two then back to geet Ipk qh n Hhmsafar!

Nakuul's acting is NOT ott..he is perfect as SSO.
No need to compare him with otger Gul heroes.. He is not same as them he is unique in his own way and Nakuul is doing complete justice to his character.
