Twerps,
You know that feeling when you've just read a really good book, or cried through a brilliant movie, where you just sit down and let it all sink in? That's exactly how I feel after reading the final chapter of The Masquerade.
The Masquerade has given me so much, like every good story should. For one, this story really marks the beginning of our friendship, because until I was following this story, I didn't know you. You're one of my closest friends on this forum now, and so this should be the first reason that I need to pay my dues to this story.
It's been a long run, and watching the plotline, and with it, your characters, grow has been such a pleasure. I fell in love with Shivaay and Annika through writing that I read on the forum first, and only then did their television counterparts appeal. The Masquerade was one of those stories that really built up my love towards the couple, because you managed to provide shades that previously went unnoticed.
I've always been a fan of your writing, and every chapter that you've updated, has reaffirmed this time and time again. It's just so raw, and just so effortless; the type of writing that calms your eyes when you read it. Beautiful, and painfully tangible; your writing is one of the reasons that this story has become so loved and cherished in the hearts of all the ShivIka fans on the forum. And I loved that you had the excerpt at the beginning in the very last chapter of the story. I thought it was incredibly fitting in its place.
I don't really know what to say past this, to be honest.
I'm torn between being satisfied with that (thrilling, might I add) closure, or being upset because it means that I won't be reading anymore of your ShivIka. I know that the show has really put you off the ship, and I don't blame you, because I think I'm advancing towards the very same standstill. And yet, I'm deeply saddened that its already over.
Your Shivaay and Annika trumped the show's so easily. They made my heart skip a beat, and laugh and cry even. They made me feel for them tenfold, and see past the shallow plunge that the writers of the show have dished out.
The plotline too, from starting with hatred, to the planned and failed seduction, the kisses to the jealousy, was fantastic. Most people have bland chapters once in a while; when you're writing 10+ chapters, it happens, to be very honest. And yet, I've never ever seen that in this story, or any of your other writing either, in fact. You always had me hoping for more, whenever I finished the update.
And now, once again, you've left me hoping for more. To be very honest, I just love reading your work so please update anything! I'm willing to read a Daksh x Tia story at this point! I'm already in love with Bitter Kisses, and I can't wait to read more of that too ❤️
Thank you for taking all of us on this beautiful ride; it was one that will be long remembered, and always coveted.
So much love (+hugs and kisses),
Innika
