For me I would want a guy who respects the heroine, motivates her and thinks of her as his equal!!!

He should always trust her and while occasionally be her knight in shinning armour but he should also trust her to get out of sticky situations by herself!!!😊 😊 😊

No pushing and pulling and manhandling and he shouldn't be rude to any women, much less the heroine!!!!😒 😒 😒 😒 😒

He shouldn't be rude to his subordinates also!!!!

He should preferably know how to cook (Om can cook yipee) and be the perfect son-in-law material (Sid anyone?)!!!😛 😛 😛

Honestly, the GulKhan kinda romance is so regressive. How can you love someone if you don't respect their basic space? Consent is a concept which is non-existent in these kinda shows? Why is respectful wala love so rare on TV nowadays? How can someone fall in love with a person when he/she doesn't even know the person fully? Or is willingly to know them? Like...a person who doesn't have basic human decency..how can a self-respecting person fall for them? Why are all these so called love-stories about a rude guy changing to a basic human being cuz of the girl's quirky nature? It has become so common that when a show does come along which has the respect wala love, as it should be, comes along...it becomes a very unique thing. Matlab...kyun?

When such a show comes by it is rejected!!!!🤢 🤢 🤢

Consent is a concept which is non-existent in today's world!!!!😔 😔 😔 😔

Getting men to understand consent is impossible but we have to face the fact that mostly women watch TV and if they cannot understand consent it is really sad!!!👎🏼 👎🏼 👎🏼 👎🏼

As for a girl changing the guy, let me quote something!!!!😳

"Love is sweet, dearest Ned, but it cannot change a man's nature."

-- Lyanna Stark
A Song of Ice and Fire

Truer words have never been said!!!!👏

The shows try to cater to the mindset that a good girl can change the bad guy!!!!

No she can't because someone's nature cannot be changed!!!😳

But even the love stories they have to show the girls being so mahan that she can change anything!!!!

I have personally never liked a love story where the girl changes the guy!!!😒

Even if you look at The Beauty and The Beast, the girl doesn't change the beast into a prince!!!!

He was always a prince, she just allows his real self to emerge!!!!!

I had a similar theme in one of the shows I watched!!!!

Hey,new here.

I agree,it wasn't romantic.It was intimidating.He simply did it to crack her,crowd her into submission.For a measly sorry.
But,alas, some find it somewhat romantic. We are fangirls,we'll sail a non existent ship if we put our mind to it.
Wait till they bring about his redemption,it's creative license to prove a point. To show change, they mostly opt for such things.

I completely agree to each & every word of yours. Shivaay will be the one who will realise the mistake he has done & he will be the one who will say sorry. Not the other way round. But I do feel that Shivaay & Anika have a crackling chemistry.

"Crackling Chemistry",well everyone is entitled to their opinion but I disagree.
Maybe my words seem indifferent but I firmly believe he was bullying her and she seemed scared. They are simply fighting because the entitled a$#& wants a sorry.Which she shouldn't say at all.
Yes Shivaay will(or probably not) say sorry because that's what these tracks go about doing. They have a guy who is despicable and comes along a manic pixie dream girl who changes him.As if he was simply a stitch gone wrong that you can unravel and sew back again. He usually battles demons they never really confront or solve and the girl is happy as long as she gets to chirp about.
If one wants crackling Chemistry they might look towards hansa and praful,or any of the sarabhais, shows like dekh bhai dekh and tu tu main main.
Connor and Oliver,Dean and Castiel/Sam,harry and Hermione...are more non heteronormative or platonic except Connor Oliver examples. There are tons more but I can't remember for the life of me.
Thanks for agreeing with me though but I couldn't resist the crackling Chemistry comment. I simply agree to disagree with it.But,you are cool though,no offence. All this rant was probably pent up frustration at gul.

Not romantic at all. It's a dated notion really from before 90s. That grabbing to show frustration and attraction is okay. That's not relevant in today's youth.
But on the same token, turning yourself into a vampire for a boy, letting him tie you up and smack you😲, making your boyfriend dance to your tunes, torturing him with mind games, stalking him on FB, Insta and Twitter isn't exactly romantic either 😆..

What is romantic to you may not be for others. I don't like man handling either. I'd probably go straight to the police station after🤣

Baby the unfortunate thing is that indian audience likes this!! So directors make this..
India me jo dikhta hai vo bikta hain na boss... 😆
I accept I did not like him pushing her in the pool... but let's see how he went in... Obviously not to save her coz she can swim... but I did like the precap.. the way he pulled her close... There are few stories in which u will find that such kind of romance is really liked just because of the direction and execution... I liked it honestly...
But more honestly lemme tell u I don't watch the show for romance or something because the chemistry between the leads still doesn't create the sparks but for ObBros and my Omie... nothing more than him interests me in the show... ❤️

P.S. : Your username itself suggests u didn't like that scene!! 🤣
Hii... welcome o the forum...I am Amreen by d way 😳

pushing and pulling is not deffinetly romantic, but it can be romantic or nearly romantic by proper execution and direction.and this ph in their previous shows executrd that.lets see how it look in ixhqbaaz.shivaay's character is not fully established yet.and now we r geting loose strand of thread here and thereand in future if they able to knot it properly we may get a wonderful loveable character named shivaay sing oberoy.

I'm disappointed that once again, 4lions decided to go this route to show romance. If they wanted to show chemistry, they could have shown both of them fall into the pool by mistake. But no, they had to go the extra mile and show manhandling as a romantic thing. Who cares if crimes against women is belittled or glorified, right? If the same thing was done by a not-so-good-looking character like a goon or villain, then I wonder how many would find such a thing romantic or good chemistry!

Well it is manhandling and that is wrong on so many levels
But according to me (remember when Anika grabbed her aunt's neck) she not is gonna stay quiet and give him back equally good if they stay true to her character
