Another thing to point out here is that Islam has many sects so the laws at times can differ slightly. The basic laws definitely remain the same but some specific ones I guess can be modified on a case to case basis, cultural basis and the demands of the current period of time, etc.
For example drinking alcohol is not allowed however when alcohol is used in medicines such as homeopathy, cough syrups, etc. It is allowed. Alcohol in it's pure form is clean to use in perfumes and stuff. Its not allowed when the same product is used as an intoxicant.
Music for example when it brings about changes of emotions in you or it has really vulgar lyrics it's not allowed but sufi music and qawwali's are allowed.
Again coming to the topic of triple talaq:
There are a few sects that don't have the concept of triple talaq like how it's generally said to be done that the guy says it three times at once and it's complete.
There are many differences of opinion on this matter.
In some sects the divorce has to be given in proper arabic in the presence of two witnesses and the condition is that he cannot add any numbers to the talaq so that he can end the divorce during the first iddah.
First, the guy and girl are given time to better their realtionship. If not they can get a mediator like a religious committe to sort differences. When all means fail he can opt for divorce and that is limited to one so they have two more chances of reconciliation.
The divorce that is given thrice at once and then the guy regrets and then they make the girl do a halala nikah is all considered non-shariah and improper ways of divorce.
However in some sects the procedure may differ. I have read that most religious authorities have differences in opinion on that one but however the Quran recommends that every effort of saving the relationship must be made. Unless it's extremely abusive and the husband and wife hate each other.
