IKRS Saturday 6th August 2016 ep 321 My Take ~ out of sight, out of mind!
It is believed that we covet first when we see, or we desire when our senses feel an attraction towards something or someone. Our senses first catch on to what appeals to us and messages our relayed to our finer emotions. The physical eye also plays a key role in disciplining both the heart and mind to dismiss something into oblivion should we want to forget something or someone. Thus the common pretext that if we don't see the object we covet then it can be easily forgotten by us. The episode shows a good evidence of symbols that are seen to be significant to a social agreement between two people. That is the agreement of marriage. The episode also shows symbolic actions that indicate a formal statement carried out before witnesses. Thus we have the symbolic rituals of Dhani getting married to Parshiya ,and Viplav setting alight the symbols of his love marriage to Dhani.
Rituals and symbols may be regimented but they are deeply bound by a united belief and there fore are adhered too, as the scriptures command. But still a heart in love is unfettered by rituals for all it knows is to love that which is paramount in status before all the other virtues! For its through love , other virtues of compassion ,peace , forgiveness , meekness flow. All are tributaries of love. Such dangerous hypocrisy. Dhani loves Viplav, yet she still goes through the rituals to marry Parshiya . Such is the sacrifice of this woman Dhani who was once Viplav's love as she still is.. But for the sake of the confirmation of their love Vidha! Dhani gives up being Viplav s love for the sake of greater cause. Gaining a father for her daughter. Dhani has her principles too.. Should would never wreck Kamini's home.. But what of her love for Viplav? The symbol of his love , their daughter is still before her very eyes. But seeing Vidha is also source of strength for her as she goes through the rituals of this social agreement with Parshiya. But How much can Viplav take ? Why does he need to see the whole ceremony ?its clear she will go through it? The symbol of the fire indicates to Viplav, there is sacred presence where he stands. Dhani's decision will bear fruit . His silence indicates his sense of giving up his dream too in favour of seeing his loves happy. But the sense of both their worlds crashing apart can only be heard by Dhani and Viplav.. Which of them is more too blame? Or none is responsible, but it's their circumstances that are faulty?
So many bits and pieces have to be sorted in a marriage ceremony, that often at the last minute important items end up missing. Pratibha has to go to Dulari's home to get the groom's gift to the bride. She finds it, but hastily as she turns to leave she notices Dhani's and Viplav s mangulsutra on the floor. She reckons its the mangulsutra to be used for the wedding in waiting. So as the deities will it.. the marriage of substance and worth, overrides the forth coming marriage of convenience and unknowingly , Pratibha allots Viplav's mangalsutra back to Dhani! Viplav had enough and he walks out from the ceremony he won't stand before the mandap and watch the rituals any more. Out of sight out of mind. Leaving her area too, is hard enough , his prayers are forever with his daughter and Dhani. Viplav is crestfallen all he wanted was to fulfil a dream of living together just the three of them! as a small happy family.. but god never willed it. Dulari follows him stops him... her intention confuses me.. is she is wary of what he still might do? something unpredictable to hinder the wedding.? but on the other hand she does put up a compassionate front as far as seeing him as a father is concerned. She is grateful to him for getting Parshiya released. She is tearful and yet again Viplav's good breeding which his dadi did, shows up and he parts from Dulari on amicable terms gatherings her blessings too. To me Dulari ensures that she sees him leave!
How long before the witch terms up to gather the spoils of the final war, her prisoner Viplav! mind you she is surprised to discover the ceremony is in progress and Viplav walks away from it. This sure is a positive sign for her. But just to be on the safe side she gives off feelers to gather what stops him from letting the marriage go ahead? She plays the concerned wife but not without stabbing him with taunts about dhani's infidelity. She carries with her the symbol of his marriage to dhani red bangles and the chunari viplav adorned Dhani with as the symbol of being the protector of her honour and virtue. Kamini taunts and mocks him , he held these replicas of his marriage to her, and look how she has dishonoured him. She suggests he should return the red bangles and red chunari to her.. But much to Kamini's delight who was desperate to catch out how much he still hangs on to dhani's love? Viplav takes the bangles from her and then sets alight the red chunari.. A symbol of cremating them , pronouncing their marriage dead as it were! Crushes the bangles in his palms and chucks them in the fire! Viplav muses, if doesn't seeing objects related to her frequently, means he is likely to forget about her, then to be it! Kamini taunts him again, dhani hardly valued his sentiments .. That kamini always told her so.. But viplav tells her straight what he sight alight are mere symbols of his love.. for dhani still remains in his heart that by no means is burnt and dead!.. And he walks away with kamini
The havan fire burns and so does Dhani's past life with Viplav. Rituals of garlands symbolise Dhani as she welcomes Parshiya into her life for the sake of her daughter. What irony Vidha's real father is turned away and a substitution is provided. Viplav's crushed red incinerated bangles are replaced by Parshiya' green ones in Dhani's life. But fate too makes a mockery of Dhani's present venture. Viplav's given mangulsutra ends up before her on the present groom tobe's platter .Dhani's surreptitious reaching out for Viplav's mangalsutra symbolises she marries Parshiya but hangs on to her past love. Still its for Vidha all goes through! and as if to reinforce that fact its Vidha who symbolically joins her mother with Parshiya with the piece of the nuptial cloth. Viplav burns his marriage to Dhani.. Her memories will bother him no more.. He leaves, never to return he assures kamimi. Bappa watches both events . Viplav's setting alight of his past and Dhani giving him up to gain a stable father figure for Vidha... Bappa looks tenderly at the happy child whose needs were being catered for.. Bappa thinks otherwise. What is the purpose of putting true love asunder.. ? Her parents drifting apart cannot be the message of true love for this angelic child? She will be the one to bring her parents together! So decrees Bappa silently..
So Viplav maybe on the verge of exit out ofDhani's life and Dhani may begin her circumambulations with Parshiya.. but in the carousel of events.. Vidha head spins , as her mother goes around the sacred fire and Viplav moves to the cab! Bappa looks at their symbol of love Vidha who to this day like her apparent dizzy spells, is unclear about the relationship of her demon uncle with her mother. Well, lord Ganapati decides the time has now approached for Vidha to find out the truth! the painful way! In fact Bappa decides all three will have pain and then gain!! The wedding stops in the wake of Vidha passing out .. Literally at the point when her demon uncle drives away out of her life.. The marriage which nearly makes it is off! The priority is to get to the hospital asap! The little girl passes out. Too much happiness made her giddy perhaps!
All cut up inside Viplav returns to the hotel with Kamini .. Atharva it appears was left on his own in the hotel room.. Neglect on Kamini's part! She left him alone to chase Viplav. So no surprise the child has a mishap and cuts himself on a piece of glass. Viplav sees his son's blood and he realizes what not he had neglected in his mad love for Dhani. Nothing that a loving father like Viplav cannot take care of as he tends to his sons cut. Atharva wants to know about his sudden disappearance and how he was kept in the dark.? Kamini replies, his dad was ill ,but now he is well and he has returned to them. She again taunts Viplav that Dhani has moved on and thus he too needs to do likewise after all two lives are linked to him. Viplav clarifies matters with this piled on wife of his. He knows his responsibilities well.. He married her for his son Atharva's sake.. as for love. He never loved her nor will in future either!! and another thing Dhani may be out of his life but Vidha will never be out of his life! Well, all ofKamini's battles so far have been lost.. Looks like she heads for losing the big war!
Vidha the unifying factor of Viplav and Dhani ends up in emergencies. Dhani begins to lose the plot things are not looking good for the little flower fairy.. For this bride mother! To blazes with all love and marriages! All she wants is her child well again.. Heaven forbid Bappa !Heaven forbid..Dhani weeps and prays..
The moment then arrives when Viplav and Dhani will have to confront each other about a matter which is not debatable. As both will be in agreement about their child's well being which is predicted to bring about the end of the spinning around of the carousel of misunderstandings dhani and Viplav have been subjected to.. Their giddiness is expected to stop in the future days to come. As both parents will stand firmly on their feet with one purpose only. To have the symbol of their love Vidha, up and running again... precap: Dulari decides Viplav needs to be told about Vidha..is it because the man has the money to buy the best treatment for Vidha?? Dhani tires to contact Viplav.. But to stretch the story for a week or two cvs. make ..viplav blanks her call he's had enough of Dhani!End off!
As Viplav gives the bond of friendship to his flower fairy.. hammie too says..
