Nutty, a very good post.
I think what is being shown is exaggerated reality.
It the stigmas of society & the disparity between upper, middle, & lower classes that encourages ppl. to behave this way. Yes, this happens more in conservative cultures like ours , unlike in the west.
Added to this, the high & mighty get away with their crimes too.
Coming to the show, Dhani has her shortcomings as you have pointed out. Sadly, the Cvs have turned Dhani weaker mentally after walking into AN. This was not the Dhani we got to see at the Ashram.
But what I fail to see is she refuses to stand up for herself, & let everyone in the family abuse/ insult her.
But again, she retorted back to PC in a public gathering. Just don't get this.
The solution is not running away from the problem but face it head on .That's what Dhani it trying to do, but her approach has to change. Atlest one good step is her education which will boost her self esteem.
But the basic fact is she as a human being has " self respect" & deserves to be treated like one.
It's a "give respect & take respect" policy they have to adhere to. She needs to make them understand that, not by bowing down but speaking up.
No one, not even Viplav can do that, but her. That's what I feel is missing.
As for Dhani moving out, I don't see that happening. It's not unlike her character... When Vip moved out, she convinced & brought him back. So will she do the same? Don't think so.
The other annoying part is Dhani makes decisions without consulting Vip. She needs to realize & not repeat her mistakes. The consequences can be big.
As for Viplav, I don't blame him . He is doing his best supporting & standing by her. He will support & love her even more, provided she is ready to hold her head up.
