heloo dolly... thanks for a thoughtful thread.. erhhh in UK we had Mothering Sunday back in March..but the role of Mother is such that even world faiths give reverence and credence to this esteemed role.Concepts related to .procreation, yeilding,bearing forth, suffering and perseverance are linked to Motherhood.. One of the mosting moving and effective emotion connected to mother hood is the image of referring to ones roots , one's country , one's nation as Motherland!
The day celebrates, all mothers. grandmothers , aunts , foster mothers and those put in this role. On the forum.. happy mothers day to all those whom I know to be mums.. dolly, Awida , mehru.. be blessed with good health, peace..

You all are going to call me names when I tell you that I called my mom today in the morning and as usually chatted for long but forgot to wish her a happy Mother's Day. I will blame it on my jet lag .

But on the good side it is my dead grandmothers 95th bday a women I learnt so much from , who would when alive would celebrate with ice cream . And we grandchildren every year do the same , where ever we are we remind each other to eat ice cream which I did .

Mothers are so special ... Can't live without mine . May god bless each one of them .
