yes kanak is jealous because viplav is mostly with his wife then her and she feels that her son is going far a way from her.

As a mother she is possessive about her son and is jealous of the fact that he spends so much time with Dhani . According to her Dhani is not fit for her son as she is not rich or affluent . She cannot fathom why her son is crazy for her and wants her.

The same reason why every mother in law underestimates her Dil and funds faults with her.

Even if a MIL has no reason to hate her DIL its quite a normal reaction in our society. Not only kanak but I have seen a lot of women with such reaction. Its a part of human psychology. In generally I am telling.. It takes a little time for a mother to understand the love of her son for his newly wed wife. She gets a feeling of insecurity. The jealousy is not for their romance but its the feeling of her son's love & importance getting shared .
