They probably are Kanak's children. She has a twisted way of wanting what's best for her kids. She may be abusive towards Shalu due her weight, but Viplav Baba's the apple of her eyes. Viplav Baba is perfection for her which is why she had very high expectations for his wife. Kanak has been portrayed as very greedy, superficial (taunts to Shalu on her weight)l, and materialistic. Parents like Kanak do exist in the real world who care more about their status and wealth than their children's happiness. Ever hear of business mergers in the form of marriage?

I think viplav and shalu are her children. But her character is rude. She don't know how to express love towards her children. She want everything best for her children. Do you remember when viplav ask for gold how happily she gave all her gold to him. She loves them.

Every girl has dreams of the type man she will get married to. I feel KT's bitterness and hatred started from shock and sadness from when she married into this family to Shambhu who had certain handicaps and did not do anything to succeed over DT achievements. I think she is very ambitious in whatever she puts her mind to but her husband was a very laid back personality who was happy with simple pleasures. This made KT more frustrated and angry. And now after Shambhu's death she cannot believe that she has been widowed. She is so blinded with anger and frustration that she forgets to see all the positives around her. Her mother in law, both her children, her wealthy family who do not force her to lead a stringent life of a widow and now her new jewel of a daughter in law, Dhani.
