IKRS Friday 4th March 2016 ep 180 My Take ~ something out of nothing.
Our life's journey is marked by a pin wheel of some things and nothings spun by the motions of our very own fate and fortune. Being alive means jumping through the hoops of life which may come across a clear as reality, while at other times events may feel like something but of a unspecified nature .This sense of picking on something unidentified, is what makes us curious to give this something a meaning, that leads to discovery ,knowledge and revelation, be it in our day today mundane lives or belong to higher order thinking. Nonetheless where something exists.. there also resides by its side, nothing, which is indicative of not anything. Insignificant in form or matter. A state of non existence, out of which no further action is prompted. The episode to me is a series of events , where these two words something and nothing shift positions according to the required purpose in a give situation or character rejoinder..
Nothing really, just a male bonding between two blokes who now graft into a bond. Raja over exuberant to learn about Viplav's girl friend knows no bounds, and quite spontaneously wants to know , all about his affair, where did he first come across this girl for the very time? how did he express his love to her? Viplav thinks nothing about it.. although for him it was a special day when he meet Dhani for the first time at the ghat! Raja is terribly, fascinated. Viplav rattles off all the initial meetings he had with Dhani. He laughs at the unreasonable demand he made of her At the time..asking a girl her age.. well narrates Viplav , he had placed a bet with his chums he would and he did.. Viplav thinks nothing of sharing his personal life with Raja, now that he is family, and once again relives those times he spent with his wife Dhani, as he happily rewinds his life and the good, the bad and the unimaginable , Viplav lays bear before Raja , all the silly and preposterous plus outrageous bits of his run in's with Dhani; the beats he received on her account, just to save her from harm!.. even the bit where he threw vermillion, on her! and now due to all blessings of the deities ,he has coloured her life forever and she his. But beyond this point, of his previous recollections ,Viplav clamps his precious important some things, as for Raja now his narration ends up as an interesting tale, Nothing beyond. As Viplav ensures, that the two some things, she was a widow, lived at a widow's ashram is left as personal to him. there! Viplav tells Raja on his request , all that he needed to know. Clearly the bloke is impressed by his wife to be's, brother's love life .Couldn't stop himself from saying,. and despite everything the two are still together. This is Viplav's strength ,information sharing only on a needs to know basis.. tell what is required, and keep back the special something! and meanwhile lead other's to believe there is naught beyond.. all that has been.. and he throws in the driving force of his relationship with his girl ,that no misunderstandings, no doubts can divide their love. Under these words which seem nothing to Raja, as he fails to grasp the true worth of Viplav's words..it was sacred vows that hold together the backbone of something very important in his life. Raja does express ,that he was very fortunate to have a girl like Dhani in his life not everyone is, wish he was.. But Viplav's account of his tale of love, appeals instantaneously to Raja and he equates the girl Viplav loves to.. a loved one in his life.. his older brother, who loved a girl, called Suman.. his brother loved her passionately. Suman was his brother's wife's name! Viplav a man hypersensitive to atmosphere , goes to his brother in laws side and says, regretfully , how come he's become all serious? What happened between his brother and Suman? Viplav wants to know. Raja replies its a sad story ,to which Viplav responds ,yes but he can share his woe with him.. Then suddenly out of nothing comes something! Raja's mother ,horrified arrives and intervenes , determined to stop her son from responding to Viplav's question. She acts as if nothing's the matter and bids her son to grab something to eat .. so here to create irony both ways for Viplav and Raja only some things are revealed but left at nothing..
Behind closed doors there's something more to what seems nothing..in great rage Raja's mother hurls him to their room and yells at Raja for nearly spilling the beans before Viplav. Raja yells it maddens him when he hears the name of suman! But mami is asked to knock some sense into Raja. Mami tells him he needs to forget about her, one day she'll find that girl and hurl her at his feet! and she'll get punished for what she did, but in the meanwhile ,this isn't the right time for all that!, they are here for his marriage that's all he needs to understand and then mami shows him some expensive pieces of jewellery that have been gifted to them.. and Raja's eyes have an odd twinkle..there's surely something else on these three people's agenda , it's not really nothing to worry about ,in fact we sense mystery and half truths, only the tip of the iceberg .The two woman decide to go shopping for gifts for Shalu's family..
Dulari too takes Dhani for her wedding shopping.. they head for the local market square outside their ashram..Love is something splendid that happens when one wants it to happen. As if by magic Viplav sails into the market area ,gently grabs her hand , and beams down at her with a here I am! expression as he looks into her big black expanded eyes.. the colour of my love is white his heart sings , with shoulders that bump and eyes that give sided looks , the two walk beside each other. Fingers touch , interlock, faces smile ,as they take footsteps and walk, both in pure bliss of the moment of togetherness. Dhani walks with him.. she could carry on walking with him for the rest of her life and she mirrors his pace , his stride and the spring in his step.. Dhani??? yells her mother and glares at her daughter doing a tip on her toes! Dhani closes her palm which a second ago Viplav held and she looks around, where is he?? Dulari is confused , what's the matter with her? what's she looking for moans dulari, at her daughter's daft behaviour! Dhani still looks around for Viplav ,who was with her ,but just vanished. Dulari slaps Dhani's shoulder and orders her ,look ahead and walk ! Dhani has a complacent , very much content ,very in love! all starry eyed expression .She is drunk ,drowsy and a wee bit demented in love.. Viplav! what is doing dressed as a confectioner.. Viplav the jalebi maker! patka wound up on the circumference of his head , a dish cloth over his shoulder, dishing out sweet helpings of love to her through his sweet naughty smiles.. the cheek! he's even passing me a box of freshly made jalebi.. how sweet is love? so full of honey ,like the syrup filled curled swirled shape of jalebi.. crunch to the bite and melt in the mouth! just like love! ,muses Dhani as she is about to accept the box from Viplav.. Dhani? what is it? do you want to eat some ,dulari interrupts Dhani's trance ,and she feels ever so stupid.. erhh no..nooerhh..moves and away and smiles full of mischief.. then she suddenly sees Viplav riding a tri carrier.. Dhani smiles at him as he whizzes past her in a white kurta and a saffron patka round his neck and over his shoulder .. she smiles at him.. and comes out of her trance with a big thump! by dulari on her shoulder, what's the matter with? away with the fairies! and stop looking here ,there and every where! Dukari yells at her! come! and mind the cow pat! Her mother yells and Dhani giggles.. she is madly in love where ever she looks she sees something.. her Viplav.. although it's nothing really..but for her its something called love.. ISHQ...
Shopping in the same area.. dulari Dhani turn up in the same area as Raja's mother and mami.. suspense and intrigue factor.. dramatic irony , we know ,they know each other. Expectation is their close proximity is bound to create something, but nothing comes out of it ,despite the bantar mami creates ,when she gets the urge to put her obsessive thieving hand into another shoppers open shoulder bag..
There's a slight mishap, Raja mother twists her ankle..its' a minor accident.. nothing really , but turns out to be of some significane..raj laxmi spots the affluently dressed ladies and offers them help in the ashram ,where she tends to Raja's mother's twisted ankle by giving her warm compress. Mami asks questions about ashram..how many residents? How do they support themselves ?Now this nothing really, turns out to be something super! Dulari is at a shop.. busy Dhani stands by her.. and suddenly Viplav sneaks from the side of the kiosk ,grabs Dhani and pulls her to the side.. she stares up at him and he pats her cheek , hey its not a dream , he's really before her! she is proper happy , asks about his hand ,he says ,fine! He gives her suggestive looks and she accuses, was he following her ,he replies he doesn't need to follow her, he closes his eyes and gets to know where exactly she is! He says such good fun , kaki is just there behind us! and they are having fun and Dhani says cautiously, have to go and he stops her from leaving, pokes the tip of her nose, gives her loving looks that brim with warm affection.. Dhani! dulari calls and Dhani dashes back ,but Viplav hooks her fingers.. and refuses to release the hook, Dhani stands plastered to the edge of the wall as Viplav stands glued to the wall on the other side. Dulari asks her sternly, where did she disappear? when dulari turns to the shop keeper. Viplav with the hook of his fingers linked to her fingers vigorously pull back to him ,faces her and moans all she thinks about is mai ,Rajlaxmi , ashram garlands ,mandir, worship! he made the time to meet her in the middle of the market, atleast, give him 10 minutes he deserves ,time with her, besides if he gets caught, he is her husband and will tell all! !than slyly asks her, is mai looking? Dhani leans past him to look and he swiftly plants a big kiss on her temple! and gives her a big grin!Then he kisses her folded hands .. dulari turns round, what she's vanished again ,!dhani! Viplav gives his wife besotted looks..and she rans past, as Viplav hangs his head down, dulari demands where she had been? and what was she doing behind there?dhani lies she was checking some stuff.. Viplav pulls on a balaclava over his head!as dulari looks to side and viplav coughs a chesty cough and sneaks past and dulari wonders, he looks familiar that man..dhani giggles and pulls her mother to face the other way and coaxes her to look at the shop.. leave him. must be some one.. viplav at a distance pulls off his balaclava with a grin,Dhani turns her head to catch sight of him, then he turns slowly and their eyes meet, their smiles reflect on each other's faces..their hearts beat together ,their souls intermingle as through their eyes transport the joy of seeing each other, but also a sadness of parting too.. as days go by, living apart is becoming increasingly tedious and cumbersome..he sends her a flying kiss, then demands and dares for his kiss from her.. she shakes her head, he begs for a teeny weeny one and he narrows his eyes, and sulks till Dhani sends him one with a smile.. then shyly , she sends him for keeps a flying kiss ..he catches it hungrily and jerks with a MI.. 😆 then swoons on a passerby..then a wave at his beloved.. and the lion turns and leaves... dulari yet again tells her light headed daughter to stop eyeing and smiling at blokes!! Dhani shows Viplav something he had faith she will deliever, all in good time.. a flying kiss at him and that too in full public view.. talk about this pretty young widow turned newlywed bride achieving something bold.. out of nothing that was once, something defined is come about her ..dhani is loved!
Final scene of the episode, the two guests are still at the ashram , Raj laxmi offers mami water the kleptomaniac has the urge to steal the metal glass too.. till she is stopped by Raja's mother. A knock on the door , gives us the expectation something big will now happen.. nothing happens. Dhani just passes the shopping back to Rajlaxmi tells her they have to return as, they left some stuff at the shops. The two ladies stand to leave. Raj laxmi accidently tips over the bag with Dhani's cosmetics on the floor. Mami is shocked make up in the ashram! Raj laxmi lies ,its materials for Shivratri puja.. they accept her statement and leave.. Rajlaxmi prays all goes well with Dhani's wedding preparation..
Viplav phones Dhani and invites her for puja.. this time at he temple for Shivratri puja.. as husband and wife.. he says he is wary about her coming.. Dhani asks does he believe in lord Shiva, he confesses,didn't before.. but now ever since he has met her ,he fears the lord.. Dhani empowers him with her devotion.. then have faith ,as lord Shiva will see to it that all will be well.. Viplav s faith was perhaps nothing , now due to the right match for him ,a match made in heaven.. Viplav faith now means something to him..
pardons for late post.. was busy.. it was an episode with a lot going.. in terms of the intrigue..we assume that dhani is Suman.. viplav is not a bimbo.. but a smart Alec.. does his own thing.. kept quite a bit from raja.. dulari.dhani.viplav scenes were such a riot.. dulari and her thappars cracked me up and viplav honsetly.. what is he on? forever kiss snatcher.. mind you dhani was seeings things too.. cheeky girl! what a pair! 🥱 GN...
