@fivr
that's the thing which irritated me ..viplav is not a two years kid..he is enough matured not even a teen ..his character is imp for me..because I personally think that many are making their ways for this show..only to watch mishal..so he should get mature with his birthday..he looks hot in blue ..but hoping to have some changes within him when will take a stand for dhani..
about dhani..she is good ,only her OTT dialogues pissed off..why there is need to say I am venerable ,my life is dark all the time..in fact her friend's dialogue ,character looked strong than dhani's..
fingers are crossed ..waiting to see how spoil brat turns into a matured guy..

Dhani 's character is one dimensional. She is a girl who has had no exposure to freedom. All she has ever done is adhered to the shallow rules of the society. Every person is not a rebel. Most people just keep living their life without questioning it. Dhani is such a girl.
Viplav on the other hand is bratty as they come. Happy in his world, still not wanting to grow up. He has family money and name which he thinks is enough to live his life with.

Dhani's seriousness and importance to social rules attitude will rub off on Viplav who will turn responsible and his carefree attitude will rub off on Dhani who will get the courage to question the rules of the world.

Well said. I too was not happy with his attitude towards women. It shows what an ugly man he is inside. His comment for the girl on the phone, sadly is a reflection of society. Filled with double standards. I think the whole scene and the dialogue about pure woman was for the benefit of when his character changes and also for when he falls in love with a woman not pure... Since what I derived pure here to mean was a woman untouched, a virgin.
For Dhani's character I don't have much to say. She seems to have made peace with the strictures society has placed, however her nature apparently gets her into trouble

Look at us after all this time in a NEW MR forum...hahaha

Lol, oh boy am I glad that I am not the only one getting those deja vu's.. 😆 🤗

I watched the epi mainly cuz DAMN THE MAN for his screen presence even now :P

Damned if he still doesn't make me grin like a fool over his voice, his sheer PRESENCE and his smile😆...yes even in a role that is the total ANTI-THESIS of Dutta and any kind of suaveness.

*sigh* I agree with you there. He does have a massive screen presence and no matter how annoyed I was at Viplav, I just couldn't be happier at seeing MR back on screen. He took his sweet time getting back to the small screen that's for sure. And since I know you'll understand what I am talking about, I was totally marveling at how amazing MR's hands are when he was holding that beer ki bottle and standing in his boat during the opening scene in this episode.. Like right at the beginning. And that reminded me about the all the discussions about his hands in LTL. 😆

Ek toh can I just say that him REPEATING like a 100 times that he's "24" is NOT going to make it believable😆...Kisi angle se 24 nahin lagta...he's just NOT a BOY...he's a MAN...but it's strictly his charisma that carries through even a mainly one-dimensional bratty character...only that lends some gravity to the proceedings.

Nahi Anu! He is TWENTY FOUR YEARS OLD! 😆😆😆 I just wish he was a more "sensible" 24 year old.. Like I said, being 24 is not synonymous with being 2 years old.. I don't know why Viplav acts like 24 means he's a teenage boy. He's TWENTY FOUR. I was doing big things when I was 24. 😆 And as far as MR's charisma goes.. I think that was the singular thing about Viplav's character that allowed me to only be annoyed at him and not homicidal at his shenanigans.

The epi mainly felt like a cliches 101 book with dialogues that even Baba Adam ke zamaane mein nahin sune honge...dunno which century ka Benaras they are trying to depict...I mean sure they are trying to showcase the different POVs within that widow aashram but sadly a lot of it is coming across as preachy speeches without substance.

It's very hard to buy a contemporary setting for this storyline...I recently watched the Deepa Mehta film water which was based on the plight of widows too but that was set in the 1940s...pre independence India and it worked better.

This is just feeling dated and unrealistic material.
Word to the rest of it.. Like I keep telling myself, no where to go but up! It can only get BETTER from here on out, hopefully.

Lol @ Dhani having OTT dialogues. Sadly I was expecting her to be nothing different than this person that she is. She's the quintessential "abla naari" who has a spine only when it comes to jhadofying the male lead but is like a bheegi billi the rest of the time. I am so much more impressed with Raj Lakshmi and am currently rooting for her! 😆

And as far as Viplav changing in a more sensible man and taking a stand for Dhani, I'll wait and watch on that.. Let's see if and how that ever happens..

I honestly am not sure what the purpose was of that scene and comment. I guess it could be because he falls in love with a woman who isn't "pure" but I figured that he'd have enough to reconcile with anyways once he fell for Dhani without adding the "pure nahi hai" taboo to the mix. Personally for me, it wasn't NEEDED. But now that it has been mentioned, then it is what it is. I'll just try to make peace with it.

I can even see why his comments about his girlfriend were added to the scene - to show how nonchalant a guy Viplav is.. I just didn't like when he compared his girlfriend to his would-be-wife and then set "purity" as a standard to determine who he would marry. Just seemed shallow. But then again, I guess that's what his character is at the moment - just a shallow, entitled, spoilt guy with no practical sense of reality or the world outside his self-made universe in Banaras.

and good old faces..
so happy to see people here.

cant comment upon the epi. yet to watch. probably will forward every stuff barring Mishal and rajlaxmi. i am kinda used to living in 21st century. prefer it that way.

Haha, thank you for christening a new word for me! 😆🤗

Lol! I feel you should watch the rest of the episode too.. If nothing else, it will be a test of patience and probably a character building exercise.. 😆

I agree with Dhani not being a rebel and that she's more of a follower than anything else at this time. But I am not sure why.. You mention her not having any exposure to freedom but I am still wondering why that would be the case. I mean I feel like I just don't know enough about her to be able to say k this is why she is how she is. All I know is that she is this way, why she is this way and if it's justified is something I really cannot say. But just seeing as how this show is based in the 21st century and how she wasn't born a widow, I am assuming that at SOME point in her life prior to now she must have had access to the modern world and its amenities.. Must have gotten some education.. Or some exposure to life outside of the vidwa-ashram.. And if that is the case, I just find it hard to relate to her willingly giving up her ability to think for herself and living a nonexistent life, all because that is what the "samaaj" expects of her. At least in this regards Raj Lakshmi seems more REAL to me because even if she is being asked to live this life, you see her questioning it and using her 21st century ka logic and brain. That is more believable to me that Dhani. Unfortunately.

But that being said, I honestly didn't expect much from Dhani's character yet.. I always figured that this is how she'll be, it was just intuition. 😆

Hello Fivr 😊.
Viplav wanting a pure girl showed thnking of men in general. If he is so confident of not finding such girl, means he is just in mood to enjoy life without any responsibality. Drinking near Ghat of Ganga, telling his friend on ph, this city is of dead means for him, life is something else.
About rest of the clan, I dont like regressive life, attitude of people. Change is a must. Let Viplav initiate it.
Viplav means 'Revolution'. His transition from a carefree to a rebel will be interesting.

Fivr , if u had no grand expectations from this show ...I had no expectations, what so ever ... The promos showed an ill mannered vagabond , the dialogues were of an obsessed person " mein tumhe manta hu " and " mein tu apna ban kar "...An ever crying girl , a rude arrogant priest , a story that seems to be of the bygone days but dragged to the present day ...
The situation with widows maybe bad ...but that not the case with everyone of them ...This also gives ppl a wrg impression abt us ...
I have never been to Baneras ...But I dbt it is what is being shown in the show ...

Abt Characters ...Viplav is so irritating, 24 really ...nd to top that a Lawyer ...
1)What I did like was why do ppl like say India this India That ... Or America is so good and nice ...nd go gaga over it ...Do not they realize ... It we who mk the country ..If we calling India names ...it is ur fault ...nd ppl who intend to leave their country after calling their country names ...r good as traitors ...is infuriating
2) WTH is pure and untouched ...what his gonna ask for a test to be done ...such a MCP ...nd what is he ..????????? how pure or untouched he is ...can be understood by telephonic call ...
3) nd Who is he ...that he should ask or snaps his fingers and world follows ...ridiculous
Such guys should be told off ... I cannot stand such nuisance

Dhani ...She reading off a book ... giving her gyan , no spunk ...no life nd so predictable ...Not even a fight
unlike Raj Laxmi
