I disgree. Marijuana is illegal for sake of it and due to politics . There is no science behind this. The fact is India made Marijuana illegal only under pressure from US when US was waging idiotic and futile war against drug in their country. Marijuna ia not all dangerous, thats why now many countries are legalising it. The data and all studies suggest where it is legal, people are least likely to be addicted like Amsterdam. And it is fact that Alcohol and cig/tobacco are more dangerous than marijuana but due to politics/economy they don't ban it. The reason that they give that marijuana is gateway drug to other hard drugs also has no data backing. Also, Bhang is legal which is exactly same as marijuana, why is that? It is only because in parts of our culture taking marijuana is normal like Shiv Bhakts take it regularly.

Overall, Marijuana should be made legal as making it illegal will do more harm to the society and to young adults who might go illegal route to find it. Yes, hard core chemical drugs should not be legal but natural weeds should be legal.

Firstly, the law is being misused to target people and settle scores. It's a non bailable offence for what? Aryan is in custody for days even when there is no evidence against him just for being there, because NCB wants to prove it's a conspiracy while evidence suggests otherwise.

Weed, when its illegal is used as a gateway drug by peddlars because they will try to sell hard drugs as well. If its legal - its much safer. Nicotine and Alcohol addiction do more damage to the body.

Also, cannabis is associated with Hinduism and is legal in some forms. Why? You can go to Rishikesh and see all Sadhus being high on them , no one bats an eyelid. Bhang comes from cannabis as well.

Why doesn't the NCB go to Mira road and make arrests which is a hub known for drugs? Why arrest Aryan who had NOTHING on him. They tried something to find.. but zilch. Got nothing.

You have pointed out one very important thing there that why is possession of marijuana non bailable offense whereas some serious crimes like murder/rape are bailable in most of the cases. The laws regarding drugs in India are outdated and need reforms ASAP.

We as a society are funny people. Something like Alcohol and caffeine are so normalized when they have same or worse effects than Marijuana. It is okay or even celebrated to sip 5 cups of coffee daily, get sleep deprived, overwork in office, eat tons of sugar candies everyday when all of these have serious danger to the physical and mental health, most of these are associated with depression but something least significant like marijuana gets attention by our governement😆

These laws are created for their benefit of course.. so that they can be misused. Yesterday there was another Supreme Court hearing with NCB where the Chief Justice scolded the ASG that of they can keep people in custody for 5 years.. they should keep them for 10 years.. then there will be no need for trial!
