Both essentially destroyed by alcoholic husbands, which you could say, Ahaan could very well become. The difference probably though is of mindset and empathy- Ahaan appears to have a lot of the latter, and empathetic folks tend to be somewhat sorted & generally don't indulge in violence.

But if savitri's angle would not have been introduced and as Ahaan cam drunk during Ishqi's mooh dikhai chachiji always feared tht he might turn out like his dad. And in future dadi might have instigated Ahaan and encouraged his drinking habit it could have a source of big crack intheir relationship and Ahaan might have become like his father not violent but also just cared for family and not for ishqi

Bold 1- I agree

Bold 2- don't think this would've happened though, especially after all his dialogues for Ishqi shown in the past.

But yes, I can see Ahaan becoming an alcoholic, especially if the Malhotras became poor all of a sudden- it was the loss of money that drove Veer to alcoholism, and I suspect that was the case with Mausaji too!

Realistically speaking, drunkard AVM is very much a possibility, but it would make him a heavily flawed (and possibly irredeemable) ML character, and the TRP audience wouldn't like that.

I disagree that Ahaan would have ever become like his father or Mausaji. At core Ahaan was very empathatic, caring and loving person. He used to protect, help Ishqi even when he used to hate her, like during Jagrata he got angry and asked her to leave but he went after her as it was late night. Then time and again he stood by her even against his dadi.

I don't believe Ahaan was Dadi's puppet. He respects dadi a lot but there are many times where he went against dadi even before he started falling in love with Ishqi. He listens to dadi and handles her diplomatically rather than shouting or rebelling but he does not give in to her all demans especailly if these are morally wrong like taunting Ishqi for her weight etc.

He always loved his family and values institution of marriage. Ishqi had becomes his family now. He helped and protected Ishqi when he did not even love her so now when she became the love of his life and part of his family, it is impossible that he would stop caring for her

The love and care Ahaan showed towards his siblings showed us he is different. Plus Param gave off this adorkable vibe when playing Ahaan through his voice modulation and body language. It made his character more endearing. Despite some problematic actions towards Ishqi I still could not help but root for him. Fortunately for him his character was also written well.

I think this is where Karthik, Sonu and Raj come in. All this time we've been told AVM has had to work and take care if his family alone. With the Mehta's attack on the mall I thought it would lead the way for Karthik to enter into the family business and help AVM. AVM losing money was not necessary for the story, instead showing us how the unbreakable bond between the Malhotra siblings and how they have each others back during difficult situations would have worked better. Which they did show post the mall collapse.. but then Dadi/Savitri and Rhea drama started taking away from the story..

But you never know, people change with time. Anything can trigger them.. make them insecure.

Say, Ahaan met with an accident.. and became paralysed.. he has to stay at home, they are financially weak. Karthik has married and settled abroad with Chacha Chachi and his wife.

Ahaan can't do much around the house either, spends his time drinking while Ishqi works.. A male colleague comes to drop her at home later after an office party.. and BOOM.. fireworks at home.

You never know what life throws at you and how people change.

Suraj uncle coming for helping Malhotras was the most stupid thing they could have brought ishqi helping in the family business or as u said kartik taking the responsibility of the business
