To be fair, earlier he decided to pin her and take out the "nand-ram" from her kameez - i think he knew he crossed the line there and had a look of worry / curiosity as to how she would react.

I think his worry was this was out in the open / for public to see - he already knows and is aware that they have chemistry but the hug by poolside his worry was the "society".

Yes - like the scene when they all take Ishqi to her room and she holds his hand asking not to leave - he knew what she meant him and he wanted to stay. He didn't even remove his hand from hers until Rhea spoke unknowingly. :D
