Kishan and Shami have been in poor form this season, Kishan started off the campaign with a ton, but since then averages only 11.3 and crossed 30 only once in his last innings. Meanwhile, Shami has only six wickets at an economy of 11.2.

SRH crumbling

SRH have failed this season, despite finishing as runners-up last season. Their opening pair of Head and Abhishek, who were feared last season, have failed to deliver this season and their strike rates have also dipped.

LSG’s woes

LSG need to win each of their next three remaining fixtures and also need other results to go their way. They hae lost four of their last five games.

LSG are placed in a very tricky situation as far as their qualification to the playoffs is concerned – if they even drop a single game, they will stand eliminated from the competition. Even if LSG win their remaining three games, there’s no guarantee of them securing a playoffs spot as they will also need other results to go their way. Both their batting and bowling has faltered in the later stages of the season – one win in their last five games testifies that fact.

As far as the ground dimensions are concerned, there’s discrepancy square, 60m is the short one, 69m is the long one and it’s 75m straight down the ground. Even better as a batter when you walk out and you see a little sheen on the wicket, that means the new ball in particular will skid on. The more the lights take effect, the more you begin to celebrate as a batter, I think this will be an absolute beauty to bat on. The trend in this tournament has been to chase the runs down, I don’t see it changing in the 40 overs so back yourself later on. There has been only one score of 200 at this venue this season and that had won the game, I will say a little bit further up, it’s a good one.

SRH, on the other hand, are already out of the playoffs race and will be playing for pride. The last season’s runners-up have failed to get consistency of any sort this time around. Momentum is a key thing in T20 cricket and a lack of that more or less spells doom for a team. There have been problems of plenty for the visitors and they have failed to address those. SRH’s last game saw Cummins put in an inspirational bowling performance in the powerplay against DC but the game got rained off. As far as head-to-head record between these two teams is concerned, LSG lead 4-1. LSG also won the reverse fixture comprehensively and that will boost their confidence.
