Holi is a festival of transformation—where vibrant colors merge into deeper emotions. This year, we invite you to embark on a storytelling journey from Nava Rang (Nine Colors) to Nava Rasa (Nine Emotions) through the lens of Indian mythology! Through this contest, your words will mirror the festival’s essence, where splashes of color evolve into waves of sentiment, crafting a tale that captures the soul of mythology and human emotions.
Participants will form teams of three (a maximum of three members in a team), working together to create a mythological tale that seamlessly transitions through all nine rasas: Sringara (Love), Hasya (Humor), Karuna (Compassion), Raudra (Anger), Vira (Courage), Bhayanaka (Fear), Bibhatsa (Disgust), Adbhuta (Wonder), and Shanta (Peace). Each group will weave a story where colors set the stage and emotions take over, building a captivating narrative inspired by Indian mythology.
The storytelling will unfold as a collaborative chain, where one writer initiates the tale within a 15-word sentence, setting the foundation for the narrative. The next writer seamlessly picks up from where the previous one left off, continuing the flow of the story within another 15-word addition. The third writer follows suit, and this cycle continues, ensuring that each turn propels the story forward while weaving through different rasas. The sequence of authors can vary, allowing for flexibility in storytelling. By the end, all nine rasas must be intricately interwoven within a single mytho thread, forming a captivating mythological tapestry that reflects the transformation of Nava Rang into Nava Rasa.
To maintain clarity and ensure an immersive reading experience, chatting is not allowed in individual team story threads. This will keep the focus on the storytelling without distractions. However, participants are free to discuss and coordinate in their group PMs.
Additionally, each team must give a unique story title and include it on their thread title at the end.
To participate, gather a team of three and one member will create a thread in the Indian Mythology forum, with their own innovative Team Name - Nava Rang to Nava Rasa. The story must evolve naturally, with each writer building upon the previous part while ensuring a smooth transition through the rasas. Only one thread per team should be opened in the forum, and originality is a must—plagiarism will lead to disqualification.
Our panel of judges will evaluate the entries based on how well the colors transform into emotions, the seamless flow of the narrative, creativity, mythological depth, and the overall emotional impact. The team that best captures this journey—from the vivid hues of Holi to the profound emotions of storytelling—will be crowned the winner of "The Rang-Rasa Chronicles".
The contest starts now and will run until March 6. The team of members have to sign up in this thread. Once you have a team of two, you can start your mytho thread. The last member can join anytime later too. However three members in a single team is the maximum limit. Once a team feels their tale is complete, ensuring that all nine rasas have been seamlessly incorporated, they must tag me in their thread to officially announce its completion.
At the end of the contest, each participant will receive an exclusive badge as a token of appreciation, and the winning team will be awarded a special winner’s badge to honor their storytelling prowess.
Let your imagination take flight, and let the colors of Holi bloom into emotions as you craft a tale that lingers in hearts and minds. Gather your team and get ready to bring mythology to life!
