In this serial, are they gonna do what they've shown in some serials - depict Sita as Ravan's daughter? It would be bizarre if they choose to go that route

Which serial had this? 😳

I don't think they'll go this route, because in the promo, Sita's voiceover says she was born of the Earth.

They initially played the background tune of Bahubali when showing Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. 😆 Then they played the theme song of AS Ramayan, which made me feel a bit nostalgic. 🥺

This doesn't sound very promising. 😳 Now I am almost 75% sure their Sita is going to be a disappointment. From the promos and interviews, Ashish seems like he'll be a pretty good Ram or at least acceptable, but more and more I feel apprehensive for Sita's role. By catering to the "Kali Yug" audience, they are definitely going to show a lot of unneeded and inappropriate scenes which will make Sita seem superior to Ram. I just hope Ram is not a meek pushover in this show, with Sita being the dominant one out of the two. Why can't they just show the epic as it is?

I don't recall whether it was a serial or a movie, but I do recall seeing it on YT. It was some old stuff from the 70s or 80s - I think it may have preceded even RS Ramayan.

In this pic, Madira does look a lot more like Sita. As for Ashish, I have managed to digest him as a Rama. Maybe nowhere near Gurmeet, but certainly at par, if not better than Gagan. I think Madira could be a better Sita than Neha Sargam.

Some comparisons are bound to happen since so many actors have played Ram and Sita over the last several decades, but ultimately, every actor has the capability of getting known by their own skill set.

My problem with Madirakshi is not her looks necessarily, but the portrayal of Sita which I am wary of. However, since the show didn't start yet, it's not worth debating about until it actually does. As far as looks go, she is too thin, like Pooja Sharma was. I don't see why so many actresses are required to have a size zero these days. Curves add to the beauty of a woman more than stick thinness. Deepika and Debina made such beautiful Sitas because they were very curvaceous and had full figures. Even Rubina Dilaik was a gorgeous Sita, and she was not stick thin.

I still don't get the look of Sita from Madirakshi, but I'll wait until the show starts before passing final judgment on her.

As for Ashish, I still think he looks more like an Arjuna or Karna than a Ram. I don't know how he'll be in comparison to Gagan, but I never liked Gagan as Ram in the first place so there's not much to compare him by. Gurmeet will always remain my favorite Ram, but I am not averse to liking another in that role if they are truly good.

I will give this show a chance, since I love Ramayan and never tire of seeing it on television, but if they change the characterizations and degrade the ultimate meaning behind the epic, then I'm not going to torture myself by sticking through with it, no matter how great the technology and sets are. Technology and sets can only take a show so far. Majority lies in the accuracy and reliability of the storyline, as well as the actors.

One question I have - why is Maharaj Janak dressed up like a sage? 😳 When I first saw the promo, I thought he was Satanand, not the King of Mithila. But then I learned that Romanch is Satanand and that the guy in the promo is Janak.

director of the show nikhil sinha and aashish sharma came to our city for promotion of this show and director saheb said that is is based on valmiki Ramayan and dont have fictional story. aashish sharma said he was happy to be part of this show. i read this in local news paper.
