They'll follow only bare minimum from scriptures. 😆
As everyone wants to show something different, they make it from different perspective. Let's see how well it connects with the viewers.

Purely my opinion...😊

Just finished watching promos of this show... N I can clearly see my fears coming true...

So after Mahabharata now star plus behind Ramayana...

Im sure they will make it like daily soap and they will show it from extreme" feminist "view... I don't even want to call it Ramayana n those characters as Sitaji n Ramji
Recently the Mahabharat has been adapted twice for TV. The first one was the disastrous attempt by Ekta Kapoor (Kahani Hamare Mahabharat Ki), which infuriated me so much that I stopped watching it after the first few episodes and the other one star Mahabharata...the less I talk about it is better..

While making serials on such great epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana...one thing must be ensured that the original story is followed truthfully. ...It is available for anybody to read and in almost every language. The serials telecasting on Star Plus r twisting the story so much that it has become a joke.

What burns me up is the lack of research and knowledge before attempting to present such a great epic on television... On top of that they are messing with the text and characters and in their course tampering with the greatness of the epic... What happens when someone watches this show who has no previous knowledge of these epics...??

Making mythology has just come down to huge sets n lots of visual effects...
If makers put the same amount of effort in understanding the story n characters that will be much better...

In Hindusim we hv lot of liberty... We can question n discuss our mythology our epics.. Our puranas... So our responsibility is more... We should respect it...instead of making mockery out of it we should try to analyse n understand these great epics...

I know its too early to judge but promos itself r so disappointing ...I expect if not 90 percent at least 60 to 70 percent should stick original epic...here these days we see makers keep the names same rest story is their own...

Sita saying prashn Karna mera swabhav something like that... Her look n constume... So different from valmiki sitaji we know of...
If show turns out to be different from what I I'm thinking then I will definitely take back my words but as of now its very disappointing😭

@Panoramic,
Exactly! What I see right now from "Siya Ke Ram" is the same I saw in Star Plus' Mahabharat - body builder actors and skinny size zero actresses, grand sets, and technology.

Ashish Sharma is a good actor and I have nothing against him personally, but does anyone get the essence of Ram from him? All I see is his body which is what's being showcased, rather than the pleasing, divine countenance of Shri Ram. There isn't that knowing smile gracing his lips, the powerful gaze of his eyes which are supposed to resemble a lotus flower, and the affectionate gaze which draws all his devotees towards him. It is far more important for an actor to have these qualities than to have an athletic body, and directors of today's mythological shows only care about that - the physical appearance of the actors.

They don't understand that not all the youth care only about the bodies of actors. Not all the youth are so shallow. There is a great number of youth out there with a genuine interest in the actual story behind the puranas, and by giving more appearance to the physical appearance of the actors and sets, they are doing injustice to the rest of the viewership.

I swear, if this show goes the feminist route and showcases Sita as this impertinent, outspoken woman who talks back to Ram, I will have a fit and pray that this show is taken down. Ramayan is very very close to my heart, and so are Ram and Sita. Sita Ma was a strong lady, but she was not impertinent or outspoken. The CVs had better show her selfless love towards Ram, her devoted nature towards her parents and in-laws, and her affectionate motherliness towards her brothers-in-law. If they show her being impertinent towards Ravan, I don't care at all, but there'd better be no feminist crap towards Ram, I swear.

my take ! i dont have much hope. i am very very disappointed by recent mytho shows ! i feel genuineness is no more. i remember Ramayan of ramanand sagar ji. B.R.Chopra Mahabharat me n my frnds still recite the same dialogue yeh meri akhand pratigya hain. my mother still says when i mention mahabharat mai samay hu.. my sister used to watch first star plus mahabharat and then B.R.Chopra version on net and then used to compare and tell me that old one mai yeh hua naye main nahi and all. i can watch Ramayan daily. i still watch and get lost in the beauty. i loved shri krishna . i also have high praises for sanjay khan jai hanuman. B.R.Chopra Ramayan was very informative. if one sees old mytho shows one can feel the genuineness on the part of whole production team. working on characters talking. gazing, gait. dialogue spoken with emotions. every expression is just. today i see more emphasis on body , clothes, sets and all. but no botheration that you are showing a mythological show. if sumbody does character of god and goddess. sincerity , devotion automatically comes. can give example ram leela characters eat saatvik bhojan . sleep on floor, dont speak any ill words and all till they are doing roles of god and goddess in ram leela. after end of ram leela they go to take bath in holy rivers like ganga ji and yamuna ji . then after taking bath they say we are returning to our normal lives. plz see there dedication. sum kind of sincerity is expected while making these kind of shows. also research should be done and no body should take creative liberties. i think it is only allowed in our religon. music also plays its part. Lord Rama was silent bearer of pain. he never remarried and did all puja havan with his golden sita ji murti. no body mentions it. sita ji suffered so Ram ji. i feel now days shows mai aatma nahi hoti.

for me arun ji is Ram ji dipika ji is sita ji and sunil ji is lakshman ji. dara singh ji is hanuman .mulrad rajda is king janak. for me Ramanand sagar ji Ramayan is forever in heart. all actors played their part with so much dedication and sincerity. ramanand sagar ji shraddha and bhakti is reflected.so as of Ravinder jain ji in his music and lyrics. 👍🏼

i also didn't like her costume..it's way too modern.. she looks like she is going to attend her sister's wedding..
and i don't get this concept of loose hair.. at that time it was considered to be bad if princess/queen left their hair loose..
in Ramcharit manas, Tulsi ji specifically mentioned about it when Kaikiyi goes to Kop bhavan..
they need to design costumes and make-up based on the emotions and feelings those characters have..
during Lakshman-Sita scenes that feeling of mother-son feeling relation will be no where..
they can't make her dress up like that is she is going to meet her parents or in-laws..
also, if they give same kind of costumes to other princesses.. i don't think it will look good when they will meet their son-in-laws (like urmila in front of Ram ji or Bharat ji..)
that is why I miss Ramanand Sagars shows a lot...

costumes are important ! hope actors do justice to there roles. hope Mother Sita motherly affection towards her BILs , laxman ji bharat ji and shatrughan ji is shown. same for hanuman ji.

I daily pray that the show does not play with the feelings and essence of Ramayana. The first two promos were nice but the third promo made me cross my fingers. Sita maata's introduction and Ashish as Lord Rama... I am really sad. I so much wanted to watch Ramayana. This doesn't feel like Ramayana. Ashish reminds me of Ranveer Singhs and rustic army men or even street fighters but not Lord Rama. He doesn't look like that. Period. Madi's intro is giving me jitters. God save us. Please please please keep it Ramayana and not any just any story they want to.

It's not even about comparing them to other actors who did Ramayan in the past. Ashish and Madirakshi should be compared to themselves and not to Arun-Deepika, Gurmeet-Debina or even Gagan-Neha.

If this Ramayan retains the age old magic of the epic, then I'll be happy and create a place in my heart for Ashish-Madirakshi, but if it ruins the epic in order to cater to modern audience, I will be highly disappointed and refuse to watch another episode.

Exactly! Ashish does not have the look of Ram at all. He still reminds me of his fierce army character in Rang Rasiya. He doesn't have the softness, gentleness and pleasing smile of Lord Ram, not to mention his costumes which look too plain and resemble a senadhipati's than a prince's. Ram was a warrior, but he was also an incarnation of God. That distinction needs to be made. This guy looks like he could play Karna or even Arjun, but not Ram.

Oh, one more thing...Ram (and Krishna) always favored pitaambar, so he was mostly seen in yellow dhotis. I hope this serial remembers that.

As for Madirakshi, she could look Sita if not for her downright modern costume, and worse than the costume are her dialogues where she says "prashna karna hai svabhaav mera, svatantra mere vichaar". It indicates that this serial will definitely go the feminist route with Sita preaching independence and pointing fingers at Ram later down the line.
