@Varnita,
The story of Mandodari being cursed by Devi Parvathi is a folk story honey. In Valmiki Ramayana and other popular sources, Mandodari was the biological daughter of the Asura Mayasura and the apsara Hema. Since her father was an Asura (which is equal to Rakshasa), she belonged to the demon family only.
The story of Mandodari becoming a frog and being found by Mayasura is an anokha adhyaya from some other sources, but it's not in Valmiki Ramayana though I don't know about RCM.

@Varnita and Nandini,
Is Tataka the mother of Kaikasi?😲😕
Mareech was Tataka's son, and since Mareech was also Ravan's uncle, that would mean Tataka was Ravan's grandmother...right? Were Mareech and Kaikasi both the children of Tataka?

That is what meant.😳 It's not a folk story but it's not in the main source of Ramayan. It's like the Ram-Hanuman Maha Yudh. That story also is not written in Valmiki Ramayan, RCM, or Adhyatma Ramayana, the three most popular versions of the epic, but it's still something some people believe in.
Either way, Mandodari can be considered a demoness, because even if she was the adopted daughter of Mayasura, he was an asura so she would be a part of his caste and culture. Just like Sita Devi is considered a kshatriya princess despite not being born of a human womb. Since she was adopted by Maharaj Janak, a kshatriya King, she also was a kshatriya princess.
SO if anyone wants to be Mandodari in our rakshasi club, they are free to be so!😛 Bhakti would be perfect for the role, but she wants to be the Shukracharya of our AT to keep us rakshasis in control.😆
