No, they've not decided
that. But I was thinking - how does one reduce the Mahabharata to 128 episodes? There are a lot of things that happened, which would have to be skipped in order to keep it that low.
As a reference, BRC's Mahabharata was 93 episodes, w/ some 4-6 dedicated to the Geeta. But they missed plenty of events - during the Pandava exile, a really condensed war that was boring to watch - the same scenes of only Arjun fighting, and hardly anyone else, except when they were getting killed, a lot of events during the exile, and so on.
Now, if they decide to skip Krishna's birth & childhood, that could buy them episodes to spend more time on the activities of the Pandavas. Like after the building of Indraprastha, Arjun's exile, his time w/ Uloopi, Chitrangada & Subhadra, and so on. Or show more Pandava conquests during the Rajasuya yagna, or more detail on the daily battles in the Kurukshetra war.
Oh, and one thing I seriously hope they do - give us as little of the Kunti-Gandhari-Vidura-Bheeshma-Shakuni dialogs as possible. It's that stuff that used to make BRC excruciatingly unwatchable for me. Show things during the exile like Ghatotkacha taking the Pandavas around, Bhima's/Yudhisthir's encounter w/ Nahush, the real confrontation w/ the Gandharvas, Bhima killing rakshashas like Kirmira and so on. In fact, make Kunti, Gandhari, Vidura cameo appearances.
