For Wife's Brother and Sister "Saala" and "Saali" are used respectively! It is one of the cutest relation I have ever felt, i really love to be with my Jijajis 😉 So yeah it is "Saala" No matter they are elder or Younger! (though sometimes elder ones are called as bhaiya or Bhaishab if they want to address them same as thier wives) But in general the Term for Wife's Sister and Brother are "Saali and "Saala" Remember Shyam use to address arnav by "Saale Sahab"? This is actually a very cute address for Wife's brother! And for Wife's Sister you can use "Saali Sahiba" *Cough Aloka Cough*😉 😆😆

Okay, so it will be by name only since I think the address of 'Bhabhi' sounds strange by someone older.😆
I know the sister's brother is addressed as 'saala' but my dad told me that it's a derogatory name nowadays in India. Is that true?😕 That is why I was hesitant to make Puru call Ishvar that. Also, did the term 'Sahab' exist during the old Kingdom days? That word came from the Mughals since it originated from Urdu right?😉 So the term 'Saale Sahab' for Puru may not be historically appropriate.😆
Do you remember that one scene during Ramayan when Yudhajit comes to visit his sister Kaikeyi? Do you remember what he called Dashrath? I think that term would be most appropriate.😉
Also, would it be okay for the husband to call his wife's younger sister by her name, since she too is like his daughter just like a younger brother's wife?Embarrassed

I just hope they don't name her Gajgamini.😆😆 I want them to name their daughter a name of Sita's and their son a name of Ram's. Maybe Janaki Raghunath!😉😆

Your Dad is right! Saala and Saali are Derogatory and offending words used for people, Even I use them in fun to tease my friends 😉😆 But Janu, though the words are Exactly Similar their meanings are different...It is like a word with two meanings, Saala when used for offending people , it is one of the derogatory word but when the same is used for the Wife's brother, the same word appears so charming and lovable, You are getting what i mean? Dont be Hesitant in making puru use it, It is completely fine..Both for Ishwar and Aloka!! As far as Sahab is concerned, i am not sure about its origin 😕 But it is so much used in India now a days specially the elder brothers are referred as "Bhai Sahab" at many places!
lol Yudhajit in ramayan calls him maharaj just like Kaikayi 😆 After a Person become the King no relation works for him, Even his wives start calling him Maharaj 😆 But please dont make Durga call Puru that 😳 It really wont suit for them!😆
Yeah it is completely OK for a Husband to call his Wife's sister by name, infact in general they address them by their names only..What else they can call them? 😆 Even my Jijus calls me with my name 😳 Though when they are in fun mood they often call me "Saaliji" 😆

I guess I understand, so the word 'Saala' is still used normally too right?Embarrassed Because if I ever publish the book I don't want to offend anyone.🤣 I don't want to use Sahab though, because though that term is used in India now, I'm trying to research the appropriate titles used in anciety India before the Mughal Kings arrived. I'm sure it was different then.😊 Don't worry, Durga won't call Puru 'Maharaj' after he becomes King, though she does it sometimes to tease him, or when she's angry with him.🤣
