O mind, remember Rama, the Lord of compassion, who will eradicate even the most terrible dread of life; his eyes are like newly-blown lutuses set in his lotus-face; lotus-like are his hands and like ruddy lotuses his feet.

(2) kamdarpa aganita amita chabi, navanila-nirada sundaram I
pata pital manahu tarita ruci suci naumi janaka sutavaram II

With utmost humility I do obeisance to Sita's consort, Ramacandra, whose boundless beauty excels that of myriads of Cupids (taken together). He is as winsome as the rain-laden clouds. The yellow attire on his body, beautifully and sanctified, looks as charming as the flashes of lighting.

(3) bhaju dinabamdhu dinesa danava-daitya-vamsa-nikamdanam I
raghunamda anamdakamda kosalacamda dasaratha namdanam II

Meditate on Rama, the delight of the house of of Raghu, root of all bliss, soothing as the moon to the Kosalas, Dasaratha's son, compassionate to the destitute, the scion of the solar race and the extirpator of the demons and diabolical daityas (giants).

(4) sri mukuta kundala tilaka chaaru udaaru anga vibhusanana

ajaanubhuja shara chaap-dhara, sangraama-jit-kharadushanam

He has a (resplendent) crown on his head, a pair of pendants in his ears, a lovely caste-mark on his forehead and ornaments on his lustrous body. The arms that reach the knees are holding the bow and arrows of the conqueror of Khara and Dusana (two of demonic adversaries).

(5) iti vadati tulasida samkara-sesa-muni-mana-ramjanam I

Tulasi Das says, "Sri Rama who brings about happiness and joy to the hearts of Lord Shiva and all others, may He reside in the depths of my heart and destroy all the evil thoughts such as desires, temptations, etc."

I heard about Kadru, because it is said that Rohini Devi (Balarama's wife) was the incarnation of Kadru. Rohini was Vasudev's first wife, and Devaki (the incarnation of Aditi - Kashyapa's first wife) was his second wife. Vasudev himself was the incarnation of Kashyapa.
I actually do not know why Garuda and the Nagas are enemies, so I researched online and found this story. It's quite interesting!😲

Garuda, the divine eagle, is the vehicle, or Vahana, of Hindu God Vishnu. Nagas or Snakes are his permanent enemies. There is an interesting story in the Purana that explains why Garuda and snakes are enemies. Sage Kashyapa had two wives named Kadru and Vinita. Kadru gave birth to thousand snakes who are considered to be the ancestors of the Snakes on earth. Vinita gave birth to the powerful Garuda.

Once Kadru and Vinita put a bet on the color of the tail of the horse Uchaishravas ' a seven-headed flying horse that was obtained during the churning of ocean or Samudra Manthan.

Kadru claimed the color was black and Vinita claimed it was white. The stake was whoever lost the bet will serve the other.

Kadru cheated by asking her sons, the Nagas, to hang on to the tail of Uchaishravas. Thus the white tail of the divine horse turned black as the nagas hung on to them.

Vinita and Garuda were thus forced to serve Kadru. They were treated badly by Kadru and her sons.

Later the nagas agreed to free Garuda and his mother if he brought the Amrit, or Elixer of life, which is in the possession of Indra, the king of Devas or demi gods. Garuda got Amrit from heaven and freed himself and his mother from servitude.

But the cheating and the insult suffered made Garuda the arch rival of Nagas.

He even played a trick with the Amrit. Although he gave the Amrit to the Nagas, he asked them to take it after purification of the body. When Nagas went to take bath, Indra took back the Amrit.

I actually never heard this bhajan before, but I love looking them up on youtube so one day I found it and fell in love. My favorite though is the complete version of Mangal Bhavan Amangal Haari. Have you heard it? It's sooo long that it's not enough to be fit into one video, so it's broken into parts.

Ramji sees that Sita Ma is tired from all the hard work she does cooking and cleaning in the ashram. Feeling remorseful, he tries to massage her legs but Sita Ma stops him, shocked. Ramji asks her why a husband cannot serve his wife when a wife serves him so dutifully, and Sita Ma begs him not to embarrass her like that. His mere presence is enough to restore her energy and make her happy.
Lovely scene!

Ramji sees that Sita Ma is happy. When he asks her about it, she explains that she is happy because he is with her, and the forests are like heaven for her where he is.❤️
