Yes, you're right Varaali. There is a specific name for the goddess because she is forever 16 - Shodashi. The other names of the same goddess are Tripurasundari and Kumari or Kanya Kumari.

Answer here is Subhadra. Yuyutsu was made the mayor of Hastinapur, from what I recall. While he did have a regent's role, he did not have any influence on Vajra.

Yudhisthir left Subhadra in charge of both Parikshit & Vajra.

18 parvas

2. What does 'Hastinapur' literally mean? Who founded Hastinapur?

Hastinapur means 'City of Elephants'. I am not sure who founded it - I did read it was Shantanu or his immediate ancestors but not sure.

3. Which kingdom is Kunti originally from? What is her real name?

She was the daughter of Surasena, father of Vasudeva of the Vrishni Clan. Her real name was Prita - hence Krishna calls Arjuna Partha, meaning son of Pritha.

4. Who wrote Mahabharata?

Sage Vyasa

5. Who was Shantanu's father?

King Pratipa.

6. Bhishma in his previous birth was a Vasu. What was his name then?

Parthiba or Prabasa - not sure as I've read both the names in different versions.

7. Kunti got her 'mantras' from which rishi?

Rishi Durvasa.

8. Who was Satyavati's father?

A fisherman named Dasaraja.

9. Why was Chitrangad (Vichitraveerya's elder brother) killed?

He had the same name as a Gandharva King. I am not sure if this was due to jealousy or some other reason, the Gandharva King Chitrangada challenged the Kuru King Chitrangada and in the war that resulted, the Kuru king was killed.

10. What was Mahabharata's original name?

Jayasmita or Jayasamhita - not sure which.

11. Gandhari was the daughter of which King?

King Subala of Gandhara.

I'm not sure if all my answers are correct. If not please correct me 😳

Thanks a lot. But who actually founded Hastinapur? Was it Shantanu or his father or ancestors?
