Mangal bhavan amangal haari, dravahusu Dasrath ajeer bihaari...

I remember hearing these words in Luv & Kush's song (sometimes in title songs too 😳) - but no idea where it really comes.

It comes early on in Baalkaand, when Shiva is narrating the story of Rama to PArvati. (How is the numbering of verses done in RCM? ). This sloka occurs in the set of verses b/w Dohas 111 and 112. (So is this a Nelson doha? 😆)

Meaning (Just taking a partial guess):

Mangala Bhavana Amangala Haari

Rama is the storehouse of all auspiciousness and the remover of all sorrows / inauspiciousness

Dravahusu Dasrath ajeer bihaari...

Whose movements, delighted Dasaratha (this part is just a guess. Dravha means moving, movement ,etc)

Very well done Varaali.👏 Yes it is placed at 1-111-4 i.e. 1st Kand, Doha 111, 4th line after that (i.e. 2nd line of 2nd Choupai).

Just the last part Dravahusu Dasrath Ajeer Bihaari meaning you need to improve and elaborate a bit. Rest everything is perfect. Why don't you use that Hindi source of RCM?

Ab mera exam le rahe ho kya? 😆

Answer tum hi bata do. Aur search karne ka mann nahi hai.

Anyway, your explanation will be better than mine. Apne aap understand karke linkne aur internet se sirf copy-paste karne mein bahut farak hai.

😃 He he. Baat sirf copy paste ki nahi wo RCM ki useful site ko navigate karne ki hai. Usko navigate karte karte hi bahut kuchh dikh jaay aju baju upar niche ka index me aur Dohe-Choupai me aur phir future me usko use karne ki aadat bhi pad jaay that was my intention. Anyway. Your next.

Dravahusu Dasrath Ajeer Bihaari ka matlab hai...
Dasrath ji ke aangan me vihaar karnewale Ramji mujh par daya/kripa karen (dravit hon).

Ab Dravit hona matlab Karunamay hona. Yani Dravahusu ka matlab Daya kare aisa ho sakta hai.
Bihaari ka matlab Vihaari yani Vihaar karnewale ho sakta hai.
Matlab Ajeer ka matlab ghar ka aangan aisa hota hoga.

Shurpanakha?

I think in the Sanskrit version, her name is Kaamaroopini.

Shoorpanakha is correct. As per Kamban, Shoorpanakha assumes the form of a beautiful woman and introduces herself to Rama as Kamavalli.

Vibhishana- your question next.
