The Maha episode of Geet on Star One turned out to be a dreadful experience for both Geet (Dhrishti Dhami) and Maan (Gurmeet Choudhary) as Gurmeet met with an accident when shooting a fight sequence on the sets.

Our source says, "In a scene being shot for the upcoming Maha episode of Geet Hui Sabse Parayi the couple Geet and Maan needed to shoot a fight sequence. Wherein, Geet was attacked by goons and Maan rescues her from their clutches. One of the acts required Maan to dodge a punch and also punch the goon back on his face. But, unfortunately a second's disturbance caused the punch to directly land on Gurmeet's face and Maan fell on the ground hurting his knees. Initially everyone thought that it was just an act but when Gurmeet didn't get up, everyone realized that something was wrong. However after some medication from the doctors on the sets, Gurmeet resumed shooting."

When asked about his health Gurmeet said, "I am absolutely fine. I always had worried about getting hurt in one of the action sequences and that day it actually happened. I surely will be more careful hence on."

DE-STRESS MANTRA
Kickboxing acts as a perfect stress buster

... says television actor Gurmeet Chaudhary

My personal de-stress mantra is...

>> doing kick boxing.I am a black belt in martial arts.Inspite of shooting for 12 hours everyday, after my pack-up I rush to do kick boxing for an hour in a garden near in my locality. No matter how tired I am,kick boxing acts as a perfect stress buster for me.I go to the gym thrice a week,on alternate days and workout for one and a half hours.I have been hooked on to massages since my recent trip to Bangkok.

In my leisure...

>> I like watching movies. After my shoot,I return home at 11.30 pm and watch movies with my wife Debina.I also love to play with my dog,Dexter and listening to my wife sing.

A cook or a foodie

>> I don't know how to cook anything.Neither am I a foodie.I'm paranoid about my diet and like to eat boiled food.I prefer home-cooked food than out side food. But when I dine out,I eat Chinese especially momos.

My hobbies are...

>> listening to music and dancing.I hear music very often,in my car and at home as well.Whenever I hear music,my feet automatically start moving.I also like to watch my wife dance,as she is a classical dancer.Sometimes,I indulge in a bit of gaming.

Chilling out at home or a party animal

>> I'm not a party animal as I rarely go for parties. After my shoot,I head home.I prefer spending quality time with family and friends.

Tips to de-stress

>> Some people tend to head home, sleep and not talk to others when they are stressed. No matter how busy you are, keep aside 30 minutes for yourself to take a walk or go to gym and get refreshed. You need to relieve the pent-up stress than sleep over it.

As told to LA

Zeb Khan to quit Rishton Se Badi Pratha..

Zeb Khan to quit Rishton Se Badi Pratha..

Zeb Khan who essays the role of Tribhuvan in Colors' Rishton Se Badi Pratha decides to quit...

Zeb Khan, popularly known as Tribhuvan of Colors' Rishton Se Badi Pratha is the next actor to opt out of the show due to the major leap planned ahead.

For the uninitiated, protagonists Vishal Karwal and Parul Chauhan had earlier put down their papers and will not be part of the post leap story line.

A little birdie tells us, "Zeb Khan had in fact accepted to be part of the leap earlier, when the leap was to be for 6-7 years. However, the channel and production house are now going in for an 18-20 year leap which has prompted Zeb to leave the show. He has apparently put down his papers".

If sources are to be believed, the production house is trying their best to alter Zeb's decision as his character of Tribhuvan is slated to be one of the pillars of the show post leap.

When contacted, Zeb Khan told us,"It has been great playing the role of Tribhuvan. I have always cherished the experience of working with Colors, and the association with the Pearl and Gurudev Bhalla has been fruitful. I hope to keep this association going, but as far as Pratha goes, I have decided not to be a part of the leap. The only reason for this move is that I do not want to play fatherly roles to people who are more or less same as my age. I might do such roles five years down the line, but not now".

Auditions for the new leads post leap are on at the moment. The leap in Pratha is slated to happen in the first week of June..

Renuka in; Swapnil out of Fu Bai Fu Season Three

Renuka Shahane to replace Swapnil Joshi in the judging panel of Zee Marathi's Fu Bai Fu...

On 11th of May, Zee Marathi will start its third season of their popular show Fu Bai Fu. After the immense popularity of its season one and two, the production house has decided to make the third season a grand one.

There would be a few new contestants along with a few old contestants from the previous seasons. Along with the contestants there will be a big change in the judging panel as well as in this season Renuka Shahane, last seen in Sony TV's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 - Dancing with the Stars, will be seen judging along with Nirmiti Sawant instead of Swapnil Joshi.

A source says, "Renuka Shahane was approached for the show long back, and she has finally given her nod. Swapnil Joshi could not give the dates to the show due to his busy schedule of Comedy Circus Ke Tansen and Papad Pol. Renuka has already done the promo shoot for the show and also has shot the first two episodes of the show."

We contacted Renuka Shahane and she confirmed, "Yes, I am excited and it feels great when someone is getting paid to laugh. It has been a fabulous experience till now judging the show with Nirmiti as we both are great friends since long and we have done many projects together. So after dancing its time to take a laughter ride."

So get ready to laugh along with the million dollar smile girl…

"Ramayan as a brand has been strong"- Saurabh Tewari

"Ramayan as a brand has been strong"- Saurabh Tewari

Saurabh Tewari, Head of Programming – Fiction, Imagine TV, speaks exclusively to Telly Buzz about their new programming strategy with the reintroduction of their popular mytho Ramayan...

Imagine TV has now brought in a re-packaged re run of its flagship historical show Ramayan at the 7-8 pm slot from May 16th.

At the outset, Saurabh Tewary,Head of Programming – Fiction, Imagine TV, talks about this new introduction of programming to kick start their daily prime time band. Also he addresses certain queries on the existing programming lineup of Imagine TV.

How did the novel idea of getting back Ramayan happen?
We were having a discussion on the strengths of Imagine three weeks back, and this is when we decided to get our flagship show Ramayan back. However, we did not want to present it to viewers in the same way. We wanted it to be pacier, and have an overall packaging done with the addition of new songs. Ramayan as a brand has been strong whenever made, and this prompted us to go ahead.

We hear the series has been repackaged, can you explain.

As I said earlier, the show has been re-edited and made pacier so that it is presented to the viewers in a better manner. We have added around 15-20 songs, the series has been divided into various kandhs now unlike the earlier version. This is an attempt to bring in a change in the narrative. The Bal Kandh for example will have 10 episodes while the Ayodhya Kandh will have 50 odd episodes and so forth. This classification has been made as per the importance of every kandh.

Is this a decision taken to bring in more viewership?
Exactly, we are starting our prime time slot of 7 pm with Ramayan and we feel it will bring in viewers.

Ramayan is not your baby, so how easy or difficult was it for you to arrive at this decision?
Whether its my baby or not, the universal fact is that Ramayan had a loyal audience. Personally I liked watching it. Same is the case with Jhansi Ki Rani, which has been accepted by one and all.

With another historical Chandragupta Maurya doing well and Ramayan relaunched, does it mean that Imagine relies on mythological and historical shows more?
Historical and mythological shows have been one of the important factors in our programming strategy and will remain the same. But we will strike a balance with the normal fiction shows too. Having said this, it is true that shows like Ramayan, Mahima Shani Dev Ki, Meera, Chandragupta Maurya etc have played important roles.

So what are the other factors according to you that will make viewers fall back on Ramayan?
See, the editing and repackaging are technical aspects. But apart from that, I strongly believe that the show will work irrespective of the additions due to the emotional, religious and cultural connect with viewers. The repackaging will give way for a 5-10 percent improvement while the new songs will definitely add to the devotional element of the show. I would want to give credit to the music and bhakti feel which leaves an unbelievable attachment on viewers.

What's in store for Imagine in the next few months?
We are now concentrating on Swayamvar Season 3 - Ratan Ka Rishta which will launch on 30th May at the 8 pm slot. We have two fiction shows lined up once Ratan ends.

How is Ratan Ka Rishta shaping up? Don't you think a slot of 8 pm is a bit early?
Ratan Ka Rishta is shaping up well, and we sincerely hope viewers like it. As far as the slot goes, the 8pm slot is equally strong. And we have seen that shows do not work on the basis of slots these days. That debate is over now.

We hear Sagar Pictures is working on a historical Dhwarkadhish for Imagine.
Well. It is too early to comment on that.

Except for Baba Aiso Varr Dhundo, most of the new launches have not worked. What do you incur?
Yes, Pardes Mein Mila Koi Apna did not work for us. We divulged in content when it comes to Armanon Ka Balidaan and Pardes, and wanted to do something new. All is part and parcel of the game. Our recent launches Beendh Banunga Ghodi Chadhunga and Looteri Dulhan were launched during IPL. Beend has been comparatively doing well; we have not reached the main phase of the story line and believe that the numbers will go up. Looteri Dulhan was an experiment and it will take time to bring in results. We will henceforth maintain a good balance between experimental and massy programming.

There has been a furore of late because of the news of Kitani Mohabbat Hai - 2 and Gunahon Ka Devta ending? What have you to say?
It is a good feeling that viewers want more of these shows. However the shows had reached a stagnation point where the basic story was getting over. We felt it was better to give a respectable ending rather than stretching it too much.

There is already a buzz about a Season 3 of Kitani Mohabbat Hai being planned?

Keep guessing!
