^^ Thank you sooooooooo much for posting these scenes Janu, you da best 🤗 The whole stretch from this intro of Vishwamitra scene to the Swayamvar has it's own special magic for me... when I was little, this journey stuff upto pushp vatika was one of my mooooosssst often watched segments, like every day at every meal my mom would have to turn on some portion of Cassette 2 to get me to eat 😆😆
Very happy you included that Kaikeyi scene - it gives both a much-needed glimpse into her true uncorrupted personality, and an important message on a king's duty. That dialogue where she's like, "you're the king! you can turn down Vishwamitra's request if you want to!" and he responds, "I'm the king and that's exactly why I can't." The idea of the king as a public servant rather than a master/tyrant is reiterated quite often in both Ramayan and SK (though your dvds are missing a lot of Ugrasen's most important scenes that relate to it 😔). Anyways I think it's a really cool dialogue that expresses the helplessness we see Dashrath and later Ram endure later on, and would make a great central theme for a new discussion thread don't ya think 😛
And yessss Sunil looks way too cute smiling like that 😍 Also love Arun in the protecting-the-yagna scene where he's pointing all those arrows to the sky, he looks all intense and warrior-like 😎 Interesting to note that while so many of the RCM verses in these Balkand epis refer to Ram as shyamal (dusky) and Lakshman as gaur (fair), in terms of the actors playing them it's the other way around 😆
