Unfortunately, Prashant has the entire indian police force and army voting for him, not to mention pretty much the entire Darjeeling. I've read that Shillong plans on doing the same for Amit.

Emon deserves it, but he's not going to win because of this stupid regional bias.

It is good to read some good comments about the top three contestants, all are equally good in their own unique way but Prashant is better because his first language is Nepali. Despite early criticism about his pronunciation, he has consistently performed well to be in with a chance of wining the title, so a million kudos to him. He is there on merit and has already received an offer from Mrs. Udit Narayan to sing some songs in her next movie 👏

The only other contestant who was from a different race and mother tongue was Chang, despite Chinese being his first language, he sang so well in Hindi.

So people, please do not knock Prashant, who has overcome personal tragedy of losing his father at a young age and then having to support his mother and siblings, and serving to protect the public as a policeman to becoming such a good singer against all odds, deserves our praise and not criticism.

doctorwordsmith, no matter how I support your freedom of speech and the right to express your opinion, I cannot help but point out that you seem to be acutely biased against Prashant and at the same time say that because of "regional bias" Emon cannot win? This is not a fair assessment, IMHO.

Actually, I remember during one of the earlier rounds, Chang said that the only thing he could say in chinese was "I don't speak Chinese"😆

Chang was born and raised in India, and so was his father. I'm not 100 percent sure, but I'm at least 90 percent sure that Hindi is his first language

Well, I feel that there were many other singers who deserved to be in the top 5 much more than Prashant- for example, Deepali or Puja, who sang much better than prashant in the earlier rounds. I feel like he should have been out a long time ago, but has only made it this far because of regional bias.

When I was growing up in Calcutta in the 1950s and 1960s, I had second and third generation Chinese friends, who all spoke the Hakka Chinese dialect as their first language at home but we all spoke to each other in perfect Hindi. BTW, Hindi is not my first language either, and besides Hindi and my own mother tongue, I can speak and understand other Indian regional dialects and also Malaysian and Cantonese Chinese amongst a few other foreign languages 😉 👍🏼 😃

Sure life's not so straightforward. However, Prashant is there on merit as are, and were, the others. Now, regardless of whoever is the eventual winner, I feel that each of the contestants is a winner in their own way to have made it as the finalists from thousands of applicants 😃, no small feat!!

Ok, I'm just pointing out that Chang said it himself that he doesn't know Chinese😊

Prashant is improving and doing good but man amit and emon r far deserving than him! so it would be really unfair to see prashant winning this title!!
