Emon is the best singer. I personally would have preferred him on Saregamapa as then we would have heard the real comments by real judges and he might have received offers for playback singing too so I wouldn't be scared to not getting a chance to listen him again.

It is good to read some good comments about the top three contestants, all are equally good in their own unique way but Prashant is better because his first language is Nepali. Despite early criticism about his pronunciation, he has consistently performed well to be in with a chance of wining the title, so a million kudos to him. The only other contestant who was from a different race and mother tongue was Chang, despite Chinese being his first language, he sang so well in Hindi.

So people, please do not knock Prashant, who has overcome personal tragedy of losing his father at a young age and then having to support his mother and siblings, and serving to protect the public as a policeman to becoming such a good singer against all odds, deserves our praise and not criticism.

All the points stated in this post seem more like sympathy points to me. It does not matter who lost his father or who serves the country or whose first language is not Hindi. The point is who has sung well and has the potential to become a playback singer.

You say Prashant has the voice quality. How come with that voice quality he never managed to give outstanding performances. Emon has given outstanding performances inspite of his thin voice. Watch him in the theatre round sing Where's the party tonight. Watch him in the piano rounds sing O majhi re, piya re, bijuriya. Watch him in the galas sing mitwa, teri deewani, chaand tare, chaudvi ka chaand, kala ho na ho, dil bar mere, etc. As you can see by the number of songs I've listed Emon has time and again proved that he deserves to stay in the competition.

When it comes to Prashant I can hardly remember any great performances. Just 3/4 at the maximum. So is he justifying his place in the competition? I don't think so.

Based on singing and not any sympathy and background history of contestants, Amit and Emon deserve the top 2 position. Though I know Emon will be out this week and Amit and Prashant will be in the top 2. But I don't see the point of the competiton then as we are comparing an uncut diamond Prashant with a polished diamond Amit. Amit deserves the crown anyday.

Also, to top it all, the outburst by Javed Akhtar on Sony seemed scripted to me , is it, to garner sympathy for Emon..dont know just my doubt.

I think what I meant was if Prashant and Amit are left, Amit deserves the crown. But if Amit and Emon are left, both are equally deserving of the crown. Amit's advantage over Emon is his deep manly voice. Emon's plus point is his versatality, he makes any song be it a romantic song like is pyaar ko to a folk song like teri deewani sound excellent. With Amit for some reason, his romantic songs stand out more.
