I think Prashant will be second. Because Amit Paul is the best Singer. Others are Preety much On and Off. Why does Prashant not Get so much of Focus, he does not even get to speak a lot. Gala 8 was like dedicated to Emon, he gets to do stuff with every judge, same with Ankita. They are being given more air time by sony- thus more votes.

Also, even when Prashant sings Good. Comments are like.
apne bahut accha gaye. aaj maja aagaya. Why so short, no praises ?

HE GETS MORE VOTES coz We like Supporting the UNDERDOGS.

True. I don't like it one bit(No, not because its Prashant we are talking about!)but it is completely true and no one can change it one bit. I'm glad that someone on here does not have false hopes for an actually fair contest(even though I have a lot of faith...I know better) and will tell it like it is. You go Rima! Good post, not just because it was written well but because it is the truth, and think it would be good if everybody read it!

I must agree with you there! Prashant hasn't been in danger as far as I can recall. I wouldn't even argue that Prashant isn't our next Indian Idol. However it's not about who wins that counts. It is about if talent wins. As we all know Amit, Emon, Chang and even Ankita are more creative singers compared to Prashant. Plus we can't forget what Javed Jii said, " The public is listening through thier eyes, not thier ears." So if votes are supporting Prashant then I wonder....is it because of his looks or his singing..or lastly his background? 😊 😉

I really don't want to go into why Prashant is getting the largest number of votes. I in fact find it odd that Indian Idol doesn't annoucne who got the larges number of votes like SRGMP, because if they did they people would discuss this topic more. But the point is that he is very popular, and this is indeed a popularity contest. If it was a true talent contest, then they would base their decision on esteemed judges. I mean I feel having judges for such voting contests is a joke, because the judges have no power whatsover. Okay, they can say this person did not sing well or you sang exceptionally, but the junta decides who they like and who they want to keep.

As long as music talent hunts like Indian Idol are based on public voting, the only way a contestant will be out or in will depend on how many votes they get. If Prashant gets maximum number of votes (which I am sure he is, because he is never in the danger zone or Bottom 3) consistently, then he is our Indian Idol.

If he wins....this is the last Indian Idol....sony won't support another show with a besura singer like Prashant. 😉

Well, to be honest Sony producers are getting exactly what the want--Voters' SMS'es and TRP ratings. So, I believe Indian Idol will continue as it a huge success for Sony monetarily. But I agree, the talent show is just a facade, real talent is not the quest here.

why dont you think that judges do not understand public? if Jantha likes prashanth despite their continued bashing, then they must understand what they are saying are not accepted by jantha. These few judges do not represent the entire musical world in India.
