Problem with Deepali-Analysis

A few words about Deepali.

She is a trained and good singer, with versatility in voice

She is a pretty lass, with middle class values

She can even perform well on stage.

She is intelligent academically

But all these attributes are not stopping her from coming to Bottom four for quite few weeks.

I have my own analysis.

Deepali comes from a conservative town, where a girl talking to boy will raise several eyebrows. Maybe, that's the reason she is studying in a Women's college.

When she came to Mumbai for II-3, she completely transformed herself (breaking all barriers of small town restrictions).

Sony TV played her romance stories and all hell break loose when Chang gave her a rose. In roobaroo, Sony deliberately showed all contestants flirting with Deepali. And final nail on coffin was Deepali admitting a crush on a guy on TV.

All this didn't go well with Harry land. Harry's couldn't digest a girl from their town romancing a guy who has Chinese lineage.

Please Note : A person from her town said in the AV (audio video) "Deepali is a well cultured girl and she cannot do anything like this"………….means according to him only an uncultured girl can have a crush on a guy.

SO u understand the mentality of the people from her town (state) and after that she is losing her home votes and surviving only on votes from her die hard fans. Guys are not voting for her too much coz of her alleged involvement with other contestant (Typical guy mentality).

If u people remember, in II-1, a girl was forced by her parents to withdraw from contest after her fellow contestant lifted her in his arms in Piano round

All in all it's not the bad singing but the Mentality of people which is affecting Deepali's chances in II-3.

I wonder, Deepali comes from a state of great politicians but still has no trick to woo her voters. After all its all about Votes.

hey good post.... though i am not a big deepali fan i definetely feel bad for her and am annoyed on Sony's failed match matching skills. They should not have degraded that poor girl showing her link up.

Now come on a finalist girl in Indian Idol would rather concentrate on her singing than a link up with a Chinese guy (or chinese lineage as you said). Felt very bad seeing her stand on stage gulping for breath with all the judges going one by one to the stage talking about her and Chang. Any girl of middle class values would feel horrified to stand there.

i knw what you are sayin n am very well aware of her the place where she comes frm.....n these thngs definitely have a bg impact in small towns like in U.P,bihar....matlab kinda north India....n you know Mumbai is very liberal...... not like mallika sherawat liberal 😉 😆 but the right kind of liberal 😃 ....i am a north indian....but i am a mumbaikar too....n i am aware of both the mentalities.

we shud not "do" anythin to them.....they will take some time par i hope eventually they will give votes.....i thnk they will. 😊
