to quote the words of a friend from some other post (cant remember who said it) - standing ovation is given to the performance which is the best of the lot. frankly smitha's was not the best performance of the evening.

I have some confusion about song selection. Who actually picks the songs? In yesterdays episode both Smita and Vanita made statements like-- 'mujhe yeh gaana jab mila', 'mujhe jo gaane diye gaye hain'.... So does that mean the channel chose the songs? In Neha's case, that was in the Gala round, maybe in the galas the contestants get to choose their songs and in the piano the songs are just given to them? If anyone could clarify that would be good.😊

Same here... me too felt that she did a good job and her effort to sing something different is admirable... lekin 😉 .... standing ovation was a little too much 😕 ... standing ovation should be reserved for extra special performances...

Last year when Neha were singing Sonu commented like why she selected easy type song like this or something to her...But actually they had to do that time as that gala they were compelled to choose the song they sing in II-2 album !!!


But I guess Javed did standing ovation to get more votes for her..& when he did others just accompanied him...if it was Anu I dont think it gonna happen !!!😛

Smita is definitely a great singer,but even if she enters top ten her chances to go ahead will be slim.Voters would go for looks and dancing capabilities.We have seen it in the past

I agree.
It was nice but not upto that mark

smitha was very good

and she desrevd that from judges

in all the three episodes of paino round this was teh best performance 😛 ..

I didn't think she deserved a standing ovation for various reasons:

1. Not her best performance till date.

2. She chose a song without many nuances. It was a plain song. Anybody could have sung it. But with Smita's calibre, this song wasn't right for her.

3. Also in Fame Gurukul, I remember Javed critizing a contestant named Neha and told her that she chose a very easy song and that in this competition, easy way doesn't get you far.... 😕 I remember that girl sang it as well as Smita.
