WHY Monali LOST

Monali was the top vote getter for her piano round; she was never in the bottom three; had a beautiful voice, charming personality and pretty looks. What happened? Why did Monali lose?

Let's start with the rules (thanks to FoxesOnIdol)

1) Have some singing and performing talent

Monali was probably one of the best, in terms of talent. Her voice is fresh and clean, and she has a grasp of sur - she connects with each song she sings and is like a thorough professional. She didn't have a connection problem with the audience, with her performances.

2) Song Choice

This is the problem. When Monali sang Piya Tohse Naina Lage Re, there was a great deal of risk involved because this song is so popular, that you need to do a fantastic version to get through. Monali did quite well, but some of her notes went around the place, and she did seem uneasy.

3) Be Consistent and Able to Sing Different Genres

Not a problem with Monali; she could sing low key numbers and peppy songs with complete ease.

4) Be Unique & Memorable, Be A Package

Monali was definitely unique; she was memorable too, a standout. She performed brilliantly, and she really connected with the audience easily.

5)Dress Sense

I added this instead of judges' respect; because I feel this was a problem for Monali. The dress she was given was tight fitting and looked very uncomfortable; it did show on Monali's face too. Maybe she lost some votes due to that.

hmm..i dun think da dress waz much of a difference y ppl din vote for her... 😃 since most of da contestants wore dose kinda clothes...

monali was very talented n a gr8 performer had a gr8 voice gr8 personality n was very unique...she really deserved 2 stay longer n i don;t think she was out due 2 her dresses thats rong thing she dressed fine she looked nice but that shud n't even have mattered it the singing n performing which she did gr8!

woahh i agree wit ya all tha wayy. but ithiink she lost cuz her songg wuz kinda boringg.and tha whole moood wuz liike neiither romantic or peppy..it wuz liike kinda dull, evn her clothes n tha whole set. soo maybe cuz of that. cuz her clothse n stuff din rele like catch ur attention n neither did tha song. so thas whyy. but iono i aitn no specialist on dis kinda stufff. but yeahh im typin to much arnt i. dangg my replys soo long! ugh

She lost bit of Sur in Sandesay as Sonu said & also in Piya toh se naina lagay re ... but i dont thing tht happened coz of her dress😕
