i do agree with you when you say that when Sonu says "tumne Kharab gaya", he means it by Monali standards, and not in general - but how does that make him responsible for her getting out?? i think we're all disillusioned enough with the public by now to know that it has a mind of its own - how it works is another story...if indeed they were that influenced by Sonu's comments, then how come Meenal was in bottom three in the 3rd gala, even after her "lambi judaai" performance elicited a "main Indian Idol mein aisi hi qualities dekhna chahta hoon" from Sonu??? and what about Amey's being in the bottom two with neha when he got accolades aplenty from not only Sonu, but all three judges and the celeb judge???? i am all for encouraging the contestants to perform better - i think it's absoutely indispensible in a competition like this, BUT, until and unless someone points out the mistakes to them, how will they know their weak areas and then work at them for betterment??? agreed, sometimes he can be a little harsh, but he is a human being after all - can't we at least give him that much space? also, do you realise that if he wasn't then what would make the contestants really pull up their socks and work hard for their own benefit?? &nb sp; &nb sp; but most important of all i fell that if, like you said, Sonu takes to always being nice to the contestant and sugar-coating his comments, then would it not be an insult to his dignity as a judge? and would it not spoil the whole system of the competition? after all, what are judges for? they are not there merely to encourage the contestants - no...they are there to help the contestants give their best to the competition, and that can only be done once the contestants know all aspects of their performance - their weak areas, their strong areas, how they can better the places where they go wrong, etc...and for them to realise all that, somebody has to point it out to them...so if Sonu chose this way of doing it, i don't see anything morally, ethically, or humanly wrong with it - and by the way, he isn't always harsh... &nbs p; &nbs p; &nbs p; if he expresses his views, we must learn to respect them - even if we don't agree , like i do sometimes, even then we must keep in mind that it is his opinion, and we have no right to question it....and that by expecting him to be sugar coated and "encouraging" in his views, we are actually questioning his dignity as a judge, and that - in my opinion - is not done...Originally posted by: subaru189
...come on Sonu learn from your mistakes man,....play some politics...apne favs ki jhoothi hi taarif kardo...Monali might have had one bad performance...Sonu could have said, something like, "Try and improve the performance, and that Monali is capable of better singing performances"..when Sonu says, kitna kharaab gaya hai...aadhi se ziyaada janta will feel if Sonu says then he must be right...they are not judging how difficult the song is...and when sonu says kitna kharaab gaya hai...it means by monali standard...and not in general..I feel Monali sang better than Ravi,Panna and Sandeep..and Antra's pronounciations were attrocious...it spoiled the whole song for me.
