Using Amey's comment that according to him Meenal is the best would be biased. Meenal and Amey have known each other for a long time now. Both have trained under Suresh Wadekar together. Amey didnt know much about talent of the other girls then. So he made that comment based on what he had known.
A lot of ppl have said that she doesnt use gimmicks like 'other' contestants do. Doesnt use gimmicks??? Please she cries just as much as Antara does whenever someones at the bottom 3. If you are referring to Antara's village thing..she has stopped it. She knows it was working against her. Infact, sony tries to bring it up again and again by even introducing her as "Chotte se gaon se aayi.." and crap. She doesnt make any reference to it. So it would be unfair to say that others use gimmicks and all. They dont.
Antara and Meenal are different. However, Antara's voice has life. I have always said this and still maintain that Meenal's voice is pale and lifeless. Her last performance reaffirmed that. We have more Meenal fans on this board becuz most of them can identify with her more than Antara. Cuz she's a city bred girl and knows exactly how to conduct herself becuz she knows her votes are going to come from ppl living in big cities and not small villages. But give Antara a break. This is her first stint as a major singer. All this is new to her. I sort of understand her situation cuz I come from a similar background and know what its like to live a life in seclusion from everything big and then one day shown the stars.
My point of opening this thread was not to go against Meenal or anything. But there are many Meenal supporters on this board trying to put Antara down by brining up her so called "gimmicks" and calling her less talented of the two. Somebody had to take a stand. I thought I would. Sorry if I have offended any Meenal supporters.
