it is definitely impossible to have a tie between two contestants in a
competition like this! out of the millions of votes there is going to be at least
one vote difference, but even that is highly unlikely! I think there is some
manipulation going on! 😡

You are right when you say that it's impossible to have a tie when the number of votes is this large. However, a tie here could mean a statistical tie. i.e. that the percentage difference between the two was so small that they had to declare it a tie.

where they messed up was not telling the audience what position the tie occured at (was it a tie for 2nd or 4th?). Had they made that clear things would have been better. Sa Re Ga Ma on the other hand made a mess of this by declaring a tie to the 3rd decimal digital (which is impossible given the number of votes). They clearly did not want those two contestants to lose and thus created an artificial tie and thus lost a huge amount of credibility.

I guess what probably happened was that Sony just made up the entire "tie" situation to bring in some gripping tension. That is what Indian Idol has been famous for anyways. People were expecting Karunya to make it to the top 12 after his power performance. What better way to shock the audience but to give them the idea that he might not make it.
What is really upsetting here is the situation they put Kshitij in. For those few minutes, the guy actually thought that he had made it and was jumping with joy, thanking the audience. And the very next minute, he was shot down. I can only imagine the dejection he had to go through. But..thats the way these channels work. They dont care about what these guys go through. All that matters to them are the TRPs and the revenue they generate.
