First of all this world is not for favors. If SONY needed Aamir, Aamir too needed SONY. Aamir has not chosen Godh Bharai or Pita to promote his film; he has chosen II5 which is a popular show to begin with. He is not coming and doing us or the channel any favors, if his film was not on release he would never be here even once forget coming twice. Nor is the channel doing him any favor. Why is he promoting 3I even now after the world premier is done? He sure has struck some great deal with SONY which will benefit both. A Channel and Producer/Actor both need each other to gather eyeballs collectively for their respective products.

Aamir who supposedly does great work and whose work supposedly speaks for itself, has for the past 3 years been going all out screaming from every nook and corner that "my film XYZ is coming". These days no work speaks for itself, one has to go all out speaking about their own work and that is exactly what the producer of Peepli Live is doing and went overboard on II5 according to me.

It is in my ignorance that I am asking that ,does aamir need a channel or a show to promote his movie?I dont think it is true that he begged,he already proved with his success what talent he is.

I agree that other drama was all unnecessary, esp the ammaji and other people praising aamir irritated me.

I agree
We are all fans of Aamir Khan and his movies, but the other gang and undue maska of that amma was so irritating. I now have bad vibes about this movie!

In my opinion such movies should be widely promoted. It is not a a bad idea that Aamir have chosen II to promote it or vice versa. If II5 is popular show than it is the best plaform to promote such films.
Threre is no point in debating about Aamir and his business tricks .....beacuse such movies are message oriented based on social issues in the present so called "shining india" and there should be no stone unturned to publicize such movies.

I get what you mean, but isn't there a limit to such publicity? 3/4 of the episode was spent on publicizing the movie.

Besides, who there, even talked about the soical message being given? All they were talking about was AM and his nautanki

If you watched those clips carefully ....then there is no need for someone specifically to talk what the movie is about......

OK, so it was about how the DIL and MIL relationship is about, because that's clearly not what the movie's about. They never showed the clip in which the guy says "Marne ke liye sarkar paisa deeti hain", so are we to assume that the movie's about the suicide of farmers in Chattisgarh???

The whole show was a result of a deal between Aamir and Sony. Aamir needed publicity for this movie, he has probably 'paid' Sony for advertising his movie. (damn sure about this). Sony thought the presence of Aamir Khan would increase Indian Idol's TRPs. This part may be partly right, but not sure if Aamir Khan or anyone else would increase TRPs at this last stage.

Not only Indian Idol, Sony allows such promotion of movies on other shows too. Any new movie releasing has got one show in Sony TV to promote itself. Any new serial on Sony/SAB has other serials to promote them, like the characters giving out timings of the show when the serial is in progress. Any movie going to be shown on Sony/SET max has a serial on Sony to give out the timings.

The result is that the entire spirit of the show(whether it is Indian Idol or anything else) is completely lost. This is a sickening practice followed by Sony. I am absolutely disgusted with this. They can promote their movies or shows by other means where it doesn't overstep into others' space. But venturing into the actual show to this extent is not acceptable.
No offence to Aamir Khan fans. I do appreciate his work in movies like Sarfarosh, Dil Chahta hai etc. But he gets carried away when it comes to promoting his movies.

Everyone does that .. Not just Aamir Khan .. it is different thing when you are appearing as actor all responsibility to promote movie is on Producer and Director .. but when you are Producing movie i mean it is part of your production, you have to do everything to promote movie.. But i can't believe that Aamir will pay Sony for promotion of his movies..

and If you think Only Aamir does this.. see this clip .. This Actor had postponed his surgery and done all other public drama when it comes to his Wife Gauri Khan producing Billu Barbaar...

Achcha....do you think Sony is allowing him to do it for free??? 😆
(Or OUATIM in another popular serial on Sony?)
C'mon Bhinder....this is just another form of advertising.
And about SRK...no comments....at least he hasn't shown up in the shows which I watch. (I am sure you know which) 😉
