The Udit-Rahman Top Five

Of course, this list is based only on my personal preference. Some of my favourite songs are left out because they'll be used in other lists. 😃

The male singer to have recorded maximum Hindi songs with Rahman is none other than Udit Narayan. ARR always brought out the best in Uditji - stretching his boundaries in terms of scales, tunes and even languages! Rahman's first Hindi soundtrack Rangeela, had two Udit Narayan songs. Uditji's first Tamil song was with ARR. And two of Udtji's three National Awards were won for Rahman compositions! Rahman has used Uditji's voice as the 'lead voice' in 'Lagaan' and 'Swades'.

So, in no particular order:

The Udit-Himesh Top Five

Himesh Reshammiya regularly used Uditji's voice in his compositions when he was a fulltime singer. HR gave Uditji some very tough songs with a classical touch. In HR's commercially successful composing career, two albums are considered classics, and one of them is Tere Naam which had Uditji singing all the songs. (The other, incidentally is Namastey London, with the amazing 'Main Jahan Rahoon' by RFAK).

Again, this is just my preference. Some songs are excluded because they'll be included in other lists.

The Udit-Darbar Top Five

Although Darbar has composed barely ten Hindi soundtracks, his contribution to Udit Narayan's career is quite big. Uditji was the lead male singer in Darbar's 'Devdas' album, which was full of great songs that went on to be very popular.

The Udit-Anand-Milind Top Five

Anand-Milind have done a lot of songs with Uditji - easily over a hundred songs. The composer duo and the singer started their successful run together, with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Although they used Abhijeet in many songs, they did most work with Uditji. Some of the greatest hits together:
