Ppssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I'm sure deep down you're quite aware this forum isn't the exactly known for users' unbiasness(this even a word?) and objectivity towards the singers. Unfortunately, there are plenty of instances on this forum itself how fondness over a certain contestant can shape their whole perception towards them in regards to everything else. I mean, we've even got threads querying about a contestant's humbleness (how on earth that can even be measured accurately by us watching through a TV screen is beyond me) and fashion sense? I think I clicked on that thread about 'who looks best in spectacles', saw a bunch of the initial posts howling Sreeram's name, and proceeded to roll my eyes not once but *twice*. :-D

Lol, I don't mean to sound negative towards any of this, because in actuality this show is about bringing forth entertainment for all of us, and being so involved and having this live-or-die mentality and discussing various aspects that aren't singing related is all apart of the fun part of Indian Idol I guess. But c'mon, definitely can't deny there's *some* blind fondness can you? :-P

C'mon now, I know your comprehension skills have got to be better than this! 😆 j/k Did you bother reading the whole post? I was being sarcastic! Obviously good looks, nice hair, or a person's gender and region are not things that require a lot of thought and are far from rational fondness. Hence the above statement, not all fondness showered upon contestants is irrational, but yes, most of it is. ;-)

As far as the light-hearted topics you mention go, at this point in the competition there is nothing much to discuss. People make light-hearted topics to give the forum some life. Why Sreeram's name is mentioned again and again - because he has the overall package. Ever considered that? Singers that are talented in reality shows automatically collect fans that become a fan of not only their singing, but also their appearance and personality. Based on my observations on various reality shows, it just works that way. When you appreciate someone's talent you start liking them for who they are as well. Not all the time, of course. Don't want to be accused of making illogical generalizations like someone here. 😛

Blind fondness is something that old members like me are used to and new members like you need to get used to - can't stop people from being fans. Remember all those Tia supporters that used to lurk around the section?

Wow WA, you are the most sensible poster on this forum👍🏼

I would like to add that it's not just singing, people are fond of sportsmen's looks even though they look ugly just because of their talent. So it's just the way people are.

I am in the US and I really like Swaroop and want him to be one of the finalists. He has got the raw talent and is extremely well trained. He has the uniqueness and is a true find and a perfect story.

Village guy with no knowledge of hindi filmy music and yet singing them with full confidence is not easy. As Suleiman of Salim-Suleiman duo said , he is a true indian idol.

As for people who say that he "ate" others chances for him and tia and many others. I once again reiterate that no one takes another's chance, everyone is here to win and they give their best to win and perform their best, if the audience doesn't vote, its not their fault.

i'm based in u.s. i totally disagree with the post-writer's view. I don't think either swaroop or bhoomi deserve to be in top 5 forget about top 3. for me top 5 was sreeram shivam naushad shashi and vishwas. and among the left i might want to see bhoomi and sreeram in top 2 because i feel swaroop still has to prove himself in other genre though his disco performance was great but if his next performance is that great i might consider him and rakesh still has to even start experimenting.

Hey, thanks, Sushruta ji! I try my best. 😆 And I was just pulling fierzer's leg there. No biggie. ;-)

And as far as looks go, I totally agree. I guess it proves the whole theory that the beauty inside a person always outshines the beauty outside. If Sreeram, Shivam, Shashi etc were guys walking down the street, most girls probably would not give them a second look. But because of their talent, they become guys that people like and find attractive. The mind likes playing games, plus beauty is subjective anyways.
