Season 4 of Indian Idol was such a disaster where there were not many good singers except Rajdeep & Presenjeet. Season 3 had Amit Paul, Emon & may be Chang. This season however, has a lot of singers who are better than the contestants of the past two seasons. In fact, there might not be any 'bad' singer this time round at all. Also, we haven't heard the word 'Performance' in this season at all which is a very good thing as it was the over stress on performance that plagued season 4.
However, since there are a lot of good singers concentrating solely on singing with expression, viewers are a bit confused & the appreciation is diversified. The problem lies in the fact that people can like different singers & the variance for this season is rather large. But it doesn't necessarily mean that all apart from one are bad singers & thats where the 'bashings' start.
My point is that this season is one of the better ones of Indian Idol so we must enjoy the fact that (may be apart from Sreeram) there is no clear favourite & every gala round has at the most one or two bad performances!!!! Don' fight ,,,, enjoy the diversity
